He was fired, not for cheating, but for lying to Saban? If he didn't lie, the cheater would still be employed?

Makes perfect sense.

Lieing to your employer and the NCAA is a massive no-no. Had he not done that, he would still have a job. But likely with a significant decrease in recruiting visits for the next year.

They were out-of-state prospects. Likely in his main recruiting region of Mississippi and East Texas. Probably Benito Jones and Jeff Simmons.
