Why Mizzou and not Mississippi State?

ETA: The stats could just as easily be manipulated to favor Etling when you're picking and choosing only 3 games.

So to answer your question no Brandon is not better he has the power, but lacks accuracy and Etling doesn't possess the cannon he is more accurate and throws a easy ball for his receivers to catch.

Idk if a short passing game to compliment the run is going to work all that well against Alabama.

It's the 10 to 15 yd passes that are the difference. Brandon would over throw his receivers on the deep digs and comebacks. Where as Etling gives his receivers a shot to fight for the ball.

So LSU had a better passing game when they played Bama last year

Let's compare 5 games instead of 3 for Harris in 2015 and Etling in 2016 prior to Alabama. All FBS teams with 4 being SEC teams.

Harris (2015)
56/92 60.8% 5TDs 0Int 655 yards

Etling (2016)
83/133 62.4% 6TDs 2Int 1029 yards

Now who would you pick?

They are pretty similar. I think etling passes for about half a yard more per attempt, but he also throws more picks and fewer TD's per attempt.

Not better. We throw the deep ball to Dural and Dupre and that would rack up yards. If it wasn't a deep ball it wasn't a completion not that hard to understand. Right?

How did Harris's TDs shrink when you went from 3 games to 5?

I switched out Western Kentucky for Eastern Michigan. I can manipulate the data set too

Even then, etling doesn't really look any better by the numbers.

Numbers are skewed in a small sample size like that because in two of those games for Harris he had an INT ball get tipped up to Dural for a 60 yard TD and a lucky Hail Mary against Fla for like 50 yards. Even if you just took out the 60 yarder it changes things a good bit.

Well one is certainly is LSU in your head I guess. The other has to be Auburn I guess or aTm which wouldn't make much sense you have already put them to pasture. Not sure do tell.

I haven't seen him enough to know what to think. I was just using the stats in the thread. He may be much better.

Blind stats are not the best way to compare players. Etling goes through progressions, moves around in the pocket well, and can actually make the short-intermediate throws. Those are all things Harris struggled with and never improved upon.
