I just stated what the sales looked like. Nowhere did I claim that OSU was dominating the ticket market

Now I see what some people say about Bama fans having to be the "best" at everything

I wondered how fans who could only afford one bowl trip would decide whether to wait for the championship game or go ahead and buy tickets for the semis

Well the Sugar Bowl is regional for Bama, so those fans will show up bigtime. Ohio State is excited as hell to be in the playoffs, so they are buying up tickets. The Rose Bowl is hallowed ground out West, and so Oregon fans will show up big time for that. The Rose Bowl is the Rose Bowl. For B1G and PAC fan bases, you go whenever you can, no matter what. The only fan base that might be "waiting" is FSU, because they just went to Pasadena last year.

Would avoid Bourbon Street that night

I've been on Bourbon St. on New Year's Eve the night before a Sugar Bowl. Crazy isn't the word for it. We bailed about 10:00 when it became so packed you couldn't move even in the middle of the fricking street. I like crowds but not to that extreme. Thinking this year we will hit Bourbon late afternoon and be good and wasted and back at the room before things get out of control. Also don't care to be around when idiots go to firing random bullets in the air at midnight.

I've yet to meet anyone with more than 400 points. I think the vast majority of members with 500+ points are corporate and premium seats. I've had 2 seats for 9 years and barely have over 100 points.

I have 471 Tide Pride points but I've been in it since its inception in 1987. Have 4 seats but in one of the lower club levels. Checked my Tide Pride donation for 2015 and it's the same as 2014. Didn't think that I would get tickets for the Sugar Bowl and I'm not disappointed since I'll be skiing in Colorado and can't attend. I do have a problem in the allotment for each school was only 13,000.

Bill Hancock: Sugar Bowl ticket sales "off the charts"

He also said for years that a playoff was the worst thing in the world for college football so I don't listen to him

I think ticketmaster still has Rose Bowl tickets available, so not a sellout yet.

Makes you wonder where the other +-50,000 tickets went.

Finebaum was saying the other day that it is very possible that these two college football games will be the highest rated college football games of all-time.

Will make March Madness seem like child's play.

They've squandered many millions over decades postponing what the people wanted all along.

Tradition, schmadition.

6 team (with 1st round bye for top 2 seeds) or 8 team playoff and we will be all set.

Corporate sponsors, dignitaries, city of New Orleans, and probably some to Saints season ticket holders.

There are always some that go on sale to the public around Labor Day each year. You just have to register for an account to get on the email list for a code.

oh look a pissing match between the world's 2 most arrogant & obnoxious fan bases. who didnt see this coming? I cant wait until the post game carnage report because something has to give. there will be flying milfs and nutsacks galore. if the gumps couldt deal with oklahoma fans there is now way they can handle tOSU fans with any amount of dignity.

Sold out on the oregon side. Only a few single seats available here and there. My point was that FSU fans are the only ones I can see "saving" for the national title game because they just went to the Rose Bowl last year. Oregon fans will always travel to Pasadena. Bama fans will def travel to the sugar bowl cause of proximity. Ohio state fans are just excited AF and would have traveled well anywhere.

Looked like a fairly good sized block of tickets available on the interactive map, but yeah, I don't blame the OSU folks. Add that to having an excuse to leave Ohio for a week during winter, and I would be doing the same thing.

Just got my email...no luck. 594 Tide Pride points was the cutoff...and that's a lot of points. I've had tickets 9 years and the guy next to me has had them maybe 20 years, and neither of us got tickets.

Damn, that is for the birds.
