I'm really looking forward to embracing some of the great traditions at the University of Tennessee, for instance the Vol Walk, running through the T, singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida next year, it will be a blast.

The single greatest quote ever given to the Vol masses; by a true Tennessee legend.

It seems like it gets said on here daily, but Tennessee fans struggle so mightily to comprehend it I'll go ahead and say it again:

If UGA underachieves/Richt sucks as every Vol poster says, why are you 4-8 against him?

Considering they happened in years where we had no shot of going to the national championship and considering the years we had a shot we fricked it up our entire year either by losing in the SEC title game, not even making it due to early year frick ups, or losing to Florida ruining our chances yes the decade has been one of underachieving.
2 semi good years do not make up for a decade of incompetence at reaching the top when we have had all the talent to do so and all the chances in the world. But coaching has cost us chance after chance of reaching the national title game. Do you feel good being the only Big 6 school to not win it all during the BCS era? I sure as Hell don't.
We squander talent and underachieve. That is obvious. If we are ever lucky enough to win the SEC again either Richt will be gone or like our last 2 being meaningless since we would be out of contention for playing in the national title game or making the 4 team playoffs.

It is interesting that Tennessee fans are the ones who most commonly say UGA underachieves. It's like they're compensating for the fact that their team sucks.

That I have to agree is funny. That is exactly why they do shite like this. Tennessee certainly has been the biggest underachiever in the conference the last 10 years.

I'm a firm believer that UGA under Richt is simply the victim of bad timing.

2002 UGA - 13-1 (Sugar Champs)
2003 LSU - 13-1 (BCS Champs)

2007 UGA - 11-2 (Sugar Champs)
2007 LSU - 12-2 (BCS Champs)

There's definitely been some years under Richt where the Dawgs have underachieved, so the nation's perception of UGA and Richt is "can't win the big one." Honestly, UGA's best teams just happen to fall on years where there's one or two teams ahead of them, while FSU continuously fricks up easy schedules and squanders elite talent.

Rationality. It exists. And here I was, allowing my skepticism to run amuck. Thank you kind sir, for restoring my faith in the human brain's seemingly dwindling functionality.
