The new intramural fields will be "off campus" but a half a mile, even if its a straight shot.

LSU is in the process of building new intramural fields out by the river, near the vet school.

Due to Valentines Day and wicked cold weather, Alabama's Pink meet was only 11,000 or so and there was an article about it in the paper. The beast Patterson created can usually be counted on a 15,000+ sellout once a year and anything approaching lowly 10,000 is cause for alarm.

We have a "farm area" to the north of campus about a mile. But with NWA growth, its surrounded by city now.

I sound like an old man, but I remember a Fayetteville of about 45k people (Springdale about 25k), with a campus of about 15k.

Now Fayetteville is about 80k, (Springdale also about 80k itself) metro is over 500k and campus is steamrolling towards 30,000 students in a few years. It used to be rural.

If I could turn back time....

We de-emphasized ag stuff early on and shipped those functions to UAM and other branches of the UA system primarily. But I think we should bite the bullet and found a vet school out on the university farm. It may happen at some point. You'd think Tyson/Hillshire Farms would fund one.

We just got a satellite med school campus in Fayetteville about 5 years ago, and they are adding a physical therapy program to it in the fall. UAMS-NW

I'm getting drunk on wine. Sorry for rambling.

You should check out my post history, especially on Wednesdays. I celebrate Hump Day with a pitcher of Bloody Mary and a platter of BLT's.

I've toned it down considerably. I mean I still celebrate, but I refrain from posting like I did.

Here's our "swimming facility", although I think it's yet another thing we don't actually compete in

This is what the interior of our natatorium looks like:

...and with that, I'm depressed and I need a drink lol.

It's sad that your facility would be an upgrade for LSU.

Alabama should add ag stuff as well. We have added a lot of acerage lately. Room for facilities in a mostly urban campus.

It looks nice to me too but like I said...I don't know shite about swimming facilities so I don't know what's considered "good" or not.

Get with the program, yo. This thread is now about swimming facility smack talk.

It seems like a lot of state universities are branching out their functions lately. A&M has a law school now. Arkansas has Physical Therapy, where most of the state kids used to go to UCA for that.

Engineering is taking off at traditionally liberal arts schools, too. We've invested tons into engineering lately, although liberal arts and business are still our largest colleges by far.
