Yeah it is impressive. Walton was purpose built for basketball. We don't even hold concerts there, except for WMT shareholders' week, and they bring in all kinds of special equipment for that.

Part of our upcoming renovation of Bud Walton (sometime in the next 3-4 years) is larger concourses, more suites, but also renovations to make it more multi-purpose. We obsessively built it to be a solid bkb arena first and foremost.

Longterm plan is for another smaller women's arena down near Baum in the 5-8k capacity range.

So your gym team does indead compete at Coleman. I wasn't sure if you'd moved them to the same place your WBB team plays at.

Thanks. Had no idea. Heck, I didn't even know we had gymnastics until we joined the SEC.

I read that post of mine again, and its funny to me that we are planning a "secondary, women's sports arena" that will be the same size range as Auburn and Ole Miss' main arenas.

We put a pitiful effort into all of our women's programs. We are an abortion in all of them, and I can't remember having a decent women's team in any sport in my lifetime.

Pretty good. Part of why I am amazed is that there was talk about reducing capacity at the PMAC to add premium seating.

Time for plan B, maybe.

Our women's programs aren't hugely successful. Track gets top 5 most of the time, but nobody cares unless its a natty, and even then, nobody cares. Women BKB got a Final Four sometime in the past 20 years, but again, nobody gives a shite.

We have an arena up north of campus that would allow us to have equestrian, but we don't do that. Our swimming facilities are pathetic.

Yep, being on the right side of the divide is pretty sweet

That's more than the basketball team gets at LSU and LSU basketball is back

I think we got you beat in that....

LSU Natatorium

I'm hoping a new swimming facility is the works. Our newest sport, Sand Volleyball, has been promised an on campus facility, and one plan calls for renovating the old tennis center for that. The swimming facility is right next door to that, and would make an ideal location for a volleyball practice facility.

And #3 LSU won, 197.950-197.425 over #2 Florida!

UARK just bought many acres south of campus for new intramural fields, so maybe they'll build a new recreation center on the present intramural fields.

Kinda crazy around the campus right now, especially to the south. Lots of infill and redevelopment. The area around Baum (south of campus) was virtually rural and slightly industrial, but housing and commercial development is exploding all around it. That side of town was sort of the ghetto-esque white trash area. Still is to a degree, but its rapidly changing. The new intramural fields will be "off campus" but a half a mile, even if its a straight shot.

Here's our "swimming facility", although I think it's yet another thing we don't actually compete in

We seriously pour every cent we have into the big 3 sports (basketball is barely getting anything) and we still can't actually win anything. Lol at us

They have always been in Coleman. And may have it all to themselves if basketball ever gets a new arena.

Our campus is getting too "urban". Just buildings everywhere. Fayetteville and the whole area have grown so much its gotten to the point that it feels constrained, to me anyway. Two new athletic facilities going up on campus right now. As soon as we finish building two things, we start building two more.
