Maty Mauk beat UGA? Is this what you're insinuating?

He did come in with the game in doubt and iced the game leading two TD drives in the 4th quarter.

Bama fatigue is a real thing. There are plenty of teams that can lose one game and still make the 4 team playoff. I am not sure that Bama is one, just because everyone is sick of them but Bammers. I think the voters are looking for anyone, but...

You talking about Bud Sasser icing the game?

Mauk completed 3 passes for 23 yds and rushed 3 times for 12 yds.

So he didnt come in the game? He rushed for a TD as well. Mizzou was leading and running the ball to control clock.

This is like the 2nd thread in two days where you focus on Mauk.

Of course he came in the game, but to suggest he won the game like the other post was hogwash.

I'm just genuinely interested to how Mizzou's offense does this year and Mauk will inevitably get praised or criticized depending on how it goes. I don't think he is crazy talented and I think he had the best WRs in the conference last year - a luxury he won't have this year. I could easily be wrong, but I think some media types are expecting too much of him.

I don't really have anything against Mizzou and this thread wasn't entirely about Mauk.

We get you dont like him or think he is talented.

You all had no idea who Lucas and Washington were last year. THe only receiver that any of you knew was DGB. Mizzou has a lot of talent at the WR position. Its the one position that Mizzou recruit nationally very well year after year.

I knew Washington and knew that him matched up against 5'8 Shaq Wiggins wasn't going to work out in our favor. I had heard of Sasser. Admittedly, I didn't know much about Lucas.

I like Mauk just fine, but if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is. I thought Coker/Kiffin, Fournette, Mauk, and Pruitt fell in that category. 2 of the 4 will probably succeed and 2 of the 4 will fail IMO.

You are the one who seems to think "a player" beats a team, I never suggested, it's stupid to even contemplate, it's like saying JFF beat Bama by himself, simply didn't happen.

But yes Mr Mauktober came in with the game on the line and salted it away with the rest of the offense.

Questions? Didn't think so.

Thanks for playing.

Bama in general. The fact that they are the favorites to win the SEC in most people's minds is downright confusing to me.

I like Bama. I also like y'all.

On this issue I agree with you.

serious lol on that one.. he beat YOU,

then one of the best defenses(supposedly) in Fl, not his fault UK rolled up on the schedule next, then if our D could have converted on just one of many 3rd and long situations we win the USC game as well. I know you never have trouble beating USC,, right?

again..

Seriously, Florida had 5 defensive starters out that game, and lost another starter on the first play on that stupid ejection rule.

Add to that the fact that the offense was an embarrassment, and that is why Missouri eventually won going away, not because of Matty Mauk.

In retrospect, it's kind of amazing that it was even close in the 4th quarter (23-17) considering UF was a 4-8 team last year.

FYI - UF also dropped 2 easy INT's in that game, other than the 1 they got.

feel free to laugh, but think about. If Bama loses the SECCG, they aren't getting in over the SEC champ.

If, as has happened in the recent past, their lone loss prevents them from getting to the SECCG, I don't think they will get in over the SEC champ, unless that champ happens to have something like 3 losses.

I just have a feeling that it will take every other conference truly sucking for the playoff committee to take two from one conference.

D. Jeremy Pruitt

Knew the guy when he was at Hoover. He's been very lucky to have tons of talent at every place he's ever coached. He's not a great coach really. His strength is as a recruiter. He relates to HS kids very well because he thinks on the same level as a teenager. Lucky for UGA fans that Georgia always has defensive talent and the state of Georgia has tons of recruits, so maybe he can just keep out-talenting everybody.

Bama's past 6 seasons:

2008: 12-2 with JPW
2009: 14-0 w/ GMc
2010: 10-3 w/ GMc
2011: 12-1 w/ AJ
2012: 13-1 w/ AJ
2013: 11-2 w/ AJ

The last two first time starters finished no worse than #1 in the country with a national championship. They've gone 72-9 with 3 different starters at QB and two different OCs (who, btw, run Saban's system and both won at least one NC in their time at Bama). Bama has shown they don't have to have an All-American or All-SEC caliber player at QB in order to win. They just need the QB to be decent. Coker will at least be decent.

Nick Marshall, seems like Gus will try to switch things up with a heavy passing attack and Nick will flounder.

Are you denying that Pruitt hasn't had tons of talent to work with at Hoover, Bama, and FSU?

Do you have an actual argument to support your laughing emoticon?

Elite talent has gotten us nowhere under Martinez and Grantham. He just coached the number 1 defense last year, so yeah, I am a little skeptical that he is all talent.
