The article never directly ties it to being Auburn fans but it was pretty well know this was link to the whole Red Dog thing.

I would be interested to hear how this ties into that

quote:

soliciting a public employee to use of public property for private benefit

or this

quote:

disseminating criminal offender record information and obtaining criminal offender information under false pretenses.

Feels like we could've had a lot more back and forth about recruiting players with criminal past.

Im not saying it didn't happen, i just don't think this article is what you're representing it as.

Auburn fans were getting tag numbers of Alabama players/recruits cars and getting these people to run them to see who they actually belonged to.

Hoping one of the players cars came back in the name of a booster.

Alabama and Auburn are both a hell of a lot smarter than that

Of course! You put the car in the mothers name, and the old high school coach pays for it monthly because he feels he should help the kid out, and the booster pays straight cash to the high school coach. Plus a bonus at the end for the trouble. Everyone knows that.

It takes a special person to hang at Elitedawgs. The only two times I have ever been there was when my ole miss friend sent me link

Elitedawgs consist of Coach34 and two basement dwelling State fans talking shite and 23,000,123 Ole Miss fans breathlessly hanging onto every word.

The man is the ultimate troll and found a way to profit off all the hits the black bears provide and they flock to him like stink on shite.

It would be funny if it were not so pathetic.

I understand your premise that you claim the article proves, I was interested how

quote:

disseminating criminal offender record information and obtaining criminal offender information under false pretenses
*

relates to that premise.

I guess the assumption you're jumping to is auburn people in those positions used their positions and auburn fans paid others in those positions to check the cars, but that doesn't explain the criminal offender records, nor is it more than a whole lot of conjecture.

*I know this used to be a problem for city employees checking in on new and old relationships.

soliciting a public employee to use of public property for private benefit

Auburn fans were asking/paying (soliciting) people that worked in police offices (public employee) to use the LETS system (public property since it was owned by the state) for their own gains or benefits (private benefit)

quote:

disseminating criminal offender record information and obtaining criminal offender information under false pretenses

They were running players names thru the system to see if they had criminal backgrounds, anything they could find out about them. To run someones name thru those systems you have to have a legit legal reason. You cant just be bored and start searching names and see what comes up. Every name that is ran thru it is logged.

Oh case close then. Clearly auburn. No other explanation.

But just to be clear, it's now expanded from running tags to find who owned the cars to find out who they belonged to, to searching for criminal history? I just need to see how far down the rabbit hole we're going to go.

I'll also note that all of those charges expect one were eventually thrown out and the judge said the whole thing was a giant waste of money. Probably an Auburn fan

What actually is funny is all those page views from ole miss fans are putting money in his pocket.

I remember all of that Operation Red Dog and the "packet" shite. That was embarrassing. People were looking up info on Carfax, hiding in bushes and taking pictures of high schoolers, etc. I had the packet saved on my old computer.

It is almost like there are a lot of people who are so obsessed with anger towards their rivals that they do things that rational people find crazy and over the top. Even crazier is that these people exist in every fanbase, shattering the notion that membership in certain fanbases somehow transforms a person from crazy moron into rational, fair minded and normal.

Powerful stuff

I can help with this one. They were charged with misusing LETS and/or NCIC. LETS is a souped-up Alabama version of NCIC that returns all types of LE specific detail in response to a single query. If they queried a vehicle, they'd get at the very least hyperlinks to the owner's driving and criminal records right there on the screen. In a nutshell, it is a one stop shop.

Because it is so detailed, use is restricted to LE purposes only and that restriction is taken very seriously. Alabama cops and dispatchers are prosecuted all the time for misusing it. It gets beat into their heads to not even think about running someone for the hell of it, but the temptation is simply too much for many. Here's an FBI employee that got popped back in August.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if the people in the story were involved in 'Red Dog' and/or if they were running Bama players and recruits, just explaining the system.

I know for a fact that the pictures of Dre's Car were taken by teammates and flouted around thru texts. I love the story about a PI and how one had to be used to uncover things. Most of those people are over 40 and have no idea how 17 year olds behave or communicate.

The black and white, grainy photo taken through bushes of Harris getting into his car sure wasn't taken by teammates.

That's all we're discussing.

I don't think anyone is disputing the merits of the crime.

Again i don't doubt that there have been nefarious things done by auburn fans, I'm just saying that article is shite for proof.
