If the Big 10 wants to say Freshman can't play I'm fine with that.


Means they'll get even fewer good recruits than they do now

Freshmen were unilaterally ineligible until the early 70's.

I was recruited by an Ivy League school in the mid-80's. Freshmen were ineligible there at the time. Not sure if they still are or not. They did have Freshmen teams.

I've often wondered if the big ten pulled an Ivy League would it in the long run hurt them. I mean yes attendance and money would disappear, but no one doubts the academic prowess of the Ivy League. All the big ten schools are top ranked in the top 100 and are research schools.

I think college FB overall would suffer overall though and it would become more regional which could mean less money for all.

Usually the academies red shirt all freshman.
