S, I like your assessment of LSU. I think Jones has LSU on trek. Need a tad more talent to make a run in the SEC.

To win the SEC, yes, but LSU will still be a top half team thanks to the teams that fight for the bottom of this league.

You have to put things in context. Tthe depth of this LSU team is significant compared to past teams. I don't see any LSU fan expecting more than a tournament berth. You can relax, no one is comparing them to Kentucky.

Cock fans have become top 3 in the worst bunch here. Frick'em save for CNB and a couple of others.

Wait, wut? How dare you. And I had better be included in that, "and a couple of others."

BTW, "CNB and a couple of others," ... that outnumbers all the Gator fans remaining on the SECr these days. amirite?

FT attempts. LSU 25 UMASS 40.

The fact that LSU had 20 first half fouls and our best player (along with others in foul trouble) JOB III picked up his fourth very early in the 2nd half was one game changer. The fact that our very talented Freshman turned his ankle within the first few minutes was another huge game changer.

You can cherry pick stats all you want but knowing what actually went on would make you think otherwise.

But yeah, after one game, we suck right?

What players is Florida missing? The announcers during the LSU game mentioned 2 starters. Is this true?

Watch out Mizzou. SIU is a sneaky good team. I could see that a close game.

Yeah the thing about SIU is they didn't get blown out hardly at all last year except by Creighton a couple times and one other. Traditionally SIU's been a very good Missouri Valley program. For Mizzou this year its pretty clear its probably always gonna be a question of are our shots falling from deep. If we are hitting from the outside we will be tough to beat, but if multiple perimeter players have an off night we do not have the inside presence to make up for it at all right now.

Still have 3 guys suspended for this game. Dorian Finney-Smith, Damontre Harris and Scottie Wilbekin. Others guys are playing hurt or sick. The team is nowhere close to what it will look like come January, although some of the suspensions end after this game.

Going to be tough to pull this one out.

This will probably not go our way, but it's still the first big test for our young team to learn how to play together and see what it can do. Not expecting to win, but excited for the game nonetheless....

On the plus side, Drew is one of the worst in-game coaches in America. Take advantage of it.

I'm almost glad we don't have a marquee match up tonight because it would just be buried under all the other great games tonight anyway.

Maybe today will temper some expectations for LSU. The "at least Sweet 16" crowd made me laugh.

Nobody is saying this. Most will be happy with a NCAA tournament appearance .
