Wait is it really?

Well, LSU just hired a position coach to be the head coach so I think it's safe to make that leap.

At least EO was a head coach at one time, the rest of the dumbass schools hired someone of convenience. Most Coordinators are also position coaches.

I was simply stating that Shula wasn't promoted, but hired from another organization. Regarding your post, I'd say that Shula was a good transition coach for Alabama during that period (probation) even though his record wouldn't reflect it. To say he was hired out of convenience is a poor description...more out of desperation.

I was talking more in terms of Dubose.

LSU is trying to duplicate what Clemson was able to do.

except Dabo hadn't failed miserably at some point previously in a HC stint in the ACC as O has in the SEC.

O may prove to be a good one, but there is a reason that despite being in coaching for 3+ decades, no one had even given him a d-coordinator role prior to or after Ole Miss taking a big swing and miss on him. He's largely been thought of as a career assistant who can recruit. He played two teams with a pulse as HC in 2016 and lost to both. Let's see what he's learned and how he adjusts to improve in 2017. Good luck to him, but history has shown Dabo to be a better coach (and possibly even better recruiter) than O.

So? He was the offensive coordinator under Majors for three seasons before taking over. He was not just a position coach like Orgeron, which is what this entire thread is about

This thread is not about 0gre. It's about which Big 6 schools promoted a position coach to HC.

Puppets is from Gadsden. Which means he is very likely inbred which caused is stupidity.
