Look, it's tragic that kids have died because of this condition, and using it as a cop out to help you win football games is despicable TBH.

I haven't seen anyone do that.

It's exactly what the coaches arguing against it are doing.

Honestly if a player has sickle cell trait then he should not be playing football. If he does he does so at his own peril.

They should not play at all, or at least not play at altitudes like the mountains of WV.

Elevator Injuries and Death > = < HUNH Injuries and Deaths?

Maybe Bert should take the stairs.

But a big, fat offensive line necessary for Bert's power running game leads do diabetes.

So Bert is responsible for the death of big fat bratwurst eating offensive linemen. He clearly doesn't care about safety issues.

Sickle cell trait is a genetic disorder that can be catastropic, especially during extreme physical exertion.

My neighbors child has Sickle Cell. One thing many people don't realize is alot of times he can have a break down without doing anything physical. Physical exertion and weather can play a role but overall in the last few years it's been hard to say what has caused so many issues with him. He is a fairly active 5 year old but no more than any other. He seems to break down every few months and he normally spends a week or so in the hospital and suffers extreme pain crisis in which morphine is used to manage it. I didn't realize how bad the disease could be on someone until I met them. He just got out of the hopsital this week and he plays on my baseball team. If it's really hot I don't let him play.

Brilliant and very astute observation.
Any team that has a guy with sickle cell should not be subjected to the HUNH. No one should be forced to put their life at risk bc of Adolf Malzhan wanting to run a bunch of plays.

No players over 300, Extremely large players are too dangerous for the game of football.

So we should probably just limit the physical exertion to the lowest possible level of physical condition just in case someone has an illness.

Also, if we make cars illegal, we can decrease automobile accidents to almost nothing. Because some people don't drive well.

“I always used to tell players, when you see a guy bleeding — and he doesn’t necessarily need to have blood coming out of him — but if he’s holding his knee or he’s holding his wrist, or he’s bent over, or he’s holding his leg or he’s working his ankle out, go after that baby." - Bret Bielema

I guess we should ban cross country then. By Arkansas logic, people who don't know they have it could run and die, therefore it should be banned.
