I think the point is a little less about knowledge and a little more about alters.
Though, I do have to say that your premise is flawed. I have about 16500 posts since 2005. In terms of posts per day, that isn't all that much. DC, on the other hand, has 50000 or so sicne 2006. What does this indicate?
