when hogs do nothing but vomit all over this board, we're not just gonna sit back and say "you're right"
you'd think y'all would learn humility after what has happened since the crash

It doesn't matter. If we won 2 national titles in a row the rant would ask why we didn't win three.

Only question in those two areas are:
a. Who is going to step up at center?
b. Who is going to replace K Small at fullback?
c. Are we going to have 2 or 3 backs over 1000?
a. Frank Ragnow
b. I was thinking Walker had it locked up but w/ Colquitt being given a scholarship already he must be impressing the staff big time.
c. Two.

BP and Gus both proved immediately that they could be successful in this league. bert has yet to prove he can handle this league.
How is going 5-7 and struggling to beat Western Illinois and needing a miracle to beat ULM proving that you can handle the league? That's what BP did his first year. Like Bielema, his team improved at the end of the year and while Petrino beat LSU and Bielema didn't, it's not that big of a difference. It was a 4 point game.
Petrino played Kentucky and a bad Auburn team his first year. Bielema didn't get that kind of schedule.

Once Bielema gets the offensive line
Currently, there are 8 former Wisconsin offensive linemen in the NFL. All 8 are from the State of Wisconsin.
By contrast, there are 5 former Arkansas offensive linemen in the NFL. None are from the State of Arkansas.
See what I'm getting at here?

Bielema was good at turning homegrown OL in to stars while Petrino and Nutt weren't.

So Petrino didn't win by enough points but bert lost by the right amount of points?

Petrino lost to Kentucky that first year too.

We've gotten OL from Minnesota, Florida, Colorado and Hawaii since he's been here. Whats your point?

Yeah.
Actually...4 losses, 3 in overtime

Petrino won by 1 point on a last second TD pass against an 8-5 LSU team.
Bielema lost by 4 on a last minute pass by a 10-3 LSU team.
No, I don't think it's that much different

First you have to have the homegrown talent. Arkansas doesn't have it. Wisconsin does. Wisconsin arguably produces more quality OL (per capita) than any other state. It is the one thing they do well.
Bielema walked into the perfect situation for him at Wisconsin, based on his offensive philosophy. But he was too arrogant to see that his success was as much a product of the program as his coaching.

Petrino was two incomplete passes away from being 3-9 in year one.
Bielema was two incomplete passes away from being 5-7 in year one.
Maybe that's a sign of things to come down the road as Bielema may always be a step behind but from a stats perspective their first years weren't that far off.

Exactly that. He won't have it handed to him. He's got to go out looking for the talent. He is trying to fill in the gaps. It will be harder for him at Arkansas than at Wisconsin. He thought it would be easier.

Your argument is weak. Bielema is already pulling in elite O line talent at Arkansas. It doesn't matter what state they're from.

When Bielema took over as head coach at UW, he walked into a situation where he had three future NFL offensive linemen already on the team (Urbik, Thomas, and Carimi, who was a freshman but was never going anywhere but UW and gave his commitment to Barry Alvarez).

I don't see any elite prospects other than Brian Wallace.

So as to be nice. If he were coaching your team in the Sugar a few years ago y'all would have beaten tOhioState.
