How are y'all doing in TX? I know y'all have drawn from here in the past....

No one yet this year, but it's early still. Down last year, only 3 I think. Usually I think we pull a half dozen or so out of TX. This year, outside of MO, MU has pulled recruits in from TN, IL and Flo. Much like TX kids MU gets, those kids are lesser known, lower ranked kids. Pinkel's typical diamond in the rough types.

I still feel like MU should be all over Illinois, Missouri, and Memphis. Its fine to target diamonds in the rough that other teams miss in Texas or Georgia but to compete at the highest level MU also needs to lock down one or two areas where they can really get the best recruits.

MU has made more IL offers this year than I've remembered seeing in recent years. A bit in Memphis as well, but definitely in IL. MU is having to mend some broken fences, particularly in the area immediately east of St. Louis. MU burned some bridges there back in the 80's when MU was in the dark period and East St. Louis was a national powerhouse in high school football. I think they offered about a half dozen kids from the metro east area alone this year.

How well does Bielema do at Arkansas? Given that he's a ground and pound smash mouth guy can he recruit the necessary talent and depth to be competitive at the top of SEC? Petrino had Arky primed to compete yearly but he was a scheme guy.

You are so wrong. Saw that talent last year. NFL was not impresses either. He recruited a30 something class after his best yr. How many good teams did he beat? Played the weakest OOC schedule in SEC.

I can tell I really like Bielema because I feel zero want to defend him against rantard comments.

I thought it was funny when the OP said we had the worst hire of the 4 new coaches, yet we got the only one who was a head coach in a BCS conference.

What good teams did he beat while at Wisconsin. Oregon's defense was not impressed with his OLs.

Assuming your referring to Petrino. In 4 seasons he had a 10-3(sugar) and 11-3(cotton).

I generally feel the same way about Coach Pinkel, but I came to a much different conclusion about what that means.

Typical aTm argument. Throw out the vast majority of your history to compare a little window.

Bielema gonna be a'ight at Arkansas. Especially if he can keep this group of coaches together for 3 or 4 years.
