For basketball I would guess that there is more talent in Memphis and Nashville for UT to grab than Arky has the inside track on
Tennessee has recently owned Atlanta in bball recruiting.

tennessee has as many sweet 16's as we do final fours....i think its easier to win at arkansas.

I think they are both really, really good jobs, but considering the success Tennessee has had with Pearl the past 5 years I have to give them the slight edge.
The NCAA mess at UT would have to mitigate that success over the last five years.
I'd say Arkie.

It depends on the coach and what they're looking for in regard to the job. Both schools have a lot to offer and both have significant differences.
ETA: IMO, Arkansas is the much better overall program.

i'll be conservative and say 13 pages.
Facilities are close. Recruiting base close. Money probably close. Fan support close.
Needless to say, it's close.
I agree on everything but fan support. Yes, y'all pack your home arena when you are good (just like Hog fans)....but you don't travel nearly as well.
When Arkansas is good, there will be a minimum of 5,000 Hog fans and more like 8-10,000 at the SEC tournament. If the Hogs are playing within 500 miles of Fayetteville in the NCAA's, there will be at least 8,000 Hog fans there.
Overall though, they're close. I think this time around any coach would come to Fayetteville though because of the mess Pearl left.

When was the last time Arkansas sold out Bud Walton?

Our average paid attendance this year was higher than your arena's capacity.
Arkansas basketball fans are second to Kentucky, but after that it's not even close.
To say otherwise is either showing your ignorance or you rage.

In 2010 (2011 not released yet) Tennessee was fourth nationally in attendance. Arkansas was 25th.

So? We sucked. We suck now. Go look at our attendance when we were consistently in the top 20 like you have been recently.
We had over 300 straight sell-outs. Over 10,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets in a 20,000 seat arena.
We brought 10,000 to Atlanta, and 12,000 to Dallas.
Next to Kentucky, it's not close.

I've been to 4 SEC basketball tournaments in the past 9 years and have never thought Arkansas brought many fans.
