They both suck equally.

UT - you have to live in TN

Arky - you have to live in Arky.

Actually Arky wins because the coach won't have to be blinded by that ugly arse orange.

Congrats Arkies. You have the better job.

Highly debatable answer IMO

But it seems to me if you argue UT basketball > Arky basketaball... you should also argue Arky football > UT football

That is, if present success trumps historical success?

People always confuse "better job" with historical or current success. It really has nothing to do with that and everything to do with resources.

and potential for both short and long-term future success trumps both. coaches aren't going to get on wikipedia and compare the number of sweet sixteens each program has been to when going after a job.

i don't think hamilton has done UT any favors with how he's handled things the last few weeks.

a little chicken and egg going on

for recruits they tend to be sold on a program by the coach as much or more than anything IMO (so the coach and the recruits he brings in are responsible for short term success IMO)

for a coach they tend to look at facilities and the recruiting base (and will stay longer if those are good - more responsible for long term success I guess)

For football it seems to me they are highly similar programs in some ways... UT's tradition trumps Arky... but otherwise I don't see a major difference when both have to recruit out of state and both have great facilities

For basketball I would guess that there is more talent in Memphis and Nashville for UT to grab than Arky has the inside track on... but I don't really follow basketball recruiting so I could be wrong

Stupid question first off.

1) UK
2) Flagship
3) Florida
4) LSU

The rest of the SEC belongs in the Sun Belt.

Arkansas by far.

Tennessee's program is really only Bruce Pearl. And he is gone now.

Maybe I am discounting Wade Houston's contributions, but Arkansas has a better basketball program.

I think they are both really, really good jobs, but considering the success Tennessee has had with Pearl the past 5 years I have to give them the slight edge.

Tennessee will always play "2nd fiddle" to Kentucky in the East and in the foreseeable future, Florida as well. Arkansas can and should be the premier SEC West Basketball program. Therefore, the nod has to go to the Hogs.

Better place to be than Florida according to Bobby Petrino. You still mad Florida had to hire an assistant coach b/c Arky's guy wouldn't even listen to Florida?
