Nobody thinks 2004 AU would ever lose to that LSU team
Says you. LSU gets bashed by some for having 2 loses that season. I get it that might be the only year where a 2 loss team wins the title. But all LSU did was benefit from a number of crazy outcomes. That team had a rash of injuries from mid-season till then end of the regular season. Any other year they don't get to the title game. Before the injuries LSU was clearly the best team in the country. I have no doubt that 2007 LSU would have beaten 2004 Auburn. Hell its up for debate if 2004 Auburn beats 2004 LSU if not for a unprecedented call that had never been called before or after in college football.

Ask yourself this tho, what did Florida do after Saban made their best coach quit? Have fun

Auburn also beat 2 of Florida's 3 best teams during this time frame.
Uh no.
UF destroyed Auburn in 1996.
Auburn upset UF in 2006.
UF didn't play Auburn in 2008.

So team 1: 3 SEc, 2 NC, 2 appearances
Team 2: 3 Sec 1 NC , 2 appearances
Team 3: 4 Sec, 2 NC & 3 appearances
Which team is better?
Exactly and going by numbers its team 3.

Meyer was not UF's best coach.
Spurrier was.
And UF dominated the SEC with Spurrier.

LSU.
Tied with UF for nattys. Have one more SEC ring than UF.
Auburn has 148 wins in that time span.
Florida 156.
LSU 168. Winning percentage of 76.4. Behind only Oklahoma, OSU, and Boise State for that time frame.
LSU has been a dumpster fire for the last 4 years and is still statistically better than AU and UF.

Eh agree to disagree.. SEC was weaker back then, didn't Dubose beat him twice in a year?

UF in the East...lucky.

Objectively, it is Florida. Most consistent. Most impressive titles when weighted by having 2. Also most consistently excellent over that time period (i.e. teams truly worthy of National title talk)
The poster above who believes 2007 LSU would have beat 2004 Auburn is objectively wrong.

In the east. There's also only one program out of these that hasn't had a losing season or missed a bowl game in that time frame. Just so happens to be the same team with the most SEC titles and 1 more NC appearance. If you don't say LSU you're just trolling or legitamitely stupid.

Not sure you know what this word means. LSU has more wins and conference titles.

Zook failed to win more than 8 games at UF. Muschamp won more than 7 games ONCE in his tenure.
You seem to be looking at the very specific 6 year span of Urban Meyer (great to be sure, and probably the most dominant stretch of the three programs), but forgetting the other 11 years in question.
In Urban Meyer's dominant tenure--Les Miles went 3 and 3 against him--UF won 65 games and two national titles.
LSU's six year span under Saban's last three years and Miles' first three, LSU won 65 games with two national titles.
Florida subjectively had a more dominant, narrower period of success in the last 16 years
LSU objectively has the better program over the whole time period.

You are really gonna harp on those 2 games as a valid indicator that Meyer was better than Spurrier?
Spurrier had to compete with a top 5 Tennessee and top 5 Florida State team every year, not to mention Auburn being very good time to time back when UF played Auburn every season in the 90s.

Historically, Auburn has a real knack for going undefeated and not winning a national championship.

Honestly,I think they all are equal in status.

That's why I quantified my comment by teams truly worthy of national title talk. Florida has had more. As an Auburn fan I really could careless if we win 8 or 10 games...without a title SEC or national it doesn't really matter that much to me.
