I probably wouldn't say that in an interview unless directly asked.

"Subhuman trash"

Does God "direct you" to refer to those you "love" in this manner?

What a strange question, of course not. He gives a lot of autonomy for situations like these.

Shows what you know.

Bama has the 2nd most SEC wins.Bama has 7 regular season titles and 6 tourney titles.

Bama is 33rd in all-time wins in all of college basketball, with 1556 two games behind Ohio St and Oklahoma St who have played 12 and 4 more seasons.

We are ahead of Mich. St, Akansas, Tennessee and Mizzou in total wins.

In 1976 there was no seeding in the tourney. # 1 Indiana, #2 Marquette, #5 North Carolina and #6 Bama was all in the Mid East region in Baton Rouge.

Bama blitzed UNC by 15 and then played Indiana, Bama took the lead at 69-68 with 2:01 to play in a seesaw affair, Indian led 70-69 with under 30 seconds left but Bama had the ball, Bama missed an easy layup and had to foul, final score 74-69.

Indiana then beat Marquette by 9 and no one else in the tourney came within 15 of IU with Mich. Losing in the title game by 19.

Indiana finnished 32-0 and was the last mens team to go undefeated.

In 1972 or 1973 Bama and Vandy both went 15-3 but Vandy won the tie breaker and Bama stayed home, the conferences only got one team in the tournament in those days.

Bama has like 8 sweet 16s and a final 8 and the 1976 team didn't make the sweet 16 because of no seeding.

You have absolutly zero idea about Bama's college badketball credentials.

Not that you care but there is a huge difference between the "subhuman trash" who call into Finebaum and those Alabama fans that routinely support basketball. I've been going to Alabama football and basketball games for the last 30 years. Alabama's basketball fanbase is dominated by people with actual ties to the school. A much much different demographic than your typical sidewalk football fan or "subhuman trash" as you call them.

You could have fooled me as you specifically singled out the subhuman trash in the fanbase as a strike against the Alabama BASKETBALL job. I don't see where any distinction was made.

I didn't single it out. The subject pertained to basketball, my opinion was based on dealing with Alabama people generally (as any head coach would, to some extent).

Historically Bama has been a good bit better, but going forward, neither program is likely to ever be consistently strong. Both programs will be about as equal as it gets, once OM new arena is built.

On a side note, State was once a strong bball program but may never be able to duplicate its former success. The climate for bball has changed and I believe its unpopular trend will continue in the deep south. Everyone wants to play football.

They actually have had some good teams that just fell short

Unless the Tad Pad II seats 12K - 14K how are they going to be seen as serious about basketball? Hiring Matt was at least a step in the right direction on the W BB side.

Cameron Indoor only holds less than the current tad pad. The new arena will sit about 1000 more give or take a hundred I believe. And it has expansion ability.
