I remember in 2001 hoping Florida wouldn't make it to the SEC title. I was more afraid of the Tigers lining up against Florida than Tennessee.

Instead of raping the Suckeyes in the natty, we had to settle for Hawaii in the Sugar.

But Hawaii had Colt Brennan... how did UGA come away with that win? Still boggles my mind.

The Amazin's in '72 had an awesome defense, but the offense was worse than the current edition (no, really). They fully deserved the SECC that year, but they weren't really 'great'.

I don't consider the '93 team because they were on probation and ineligible from the start.

My pick would be the '86 team. Stout Wayne Hall defense, outstanding special teams, and most of all a phenomenal balanced offensive attack behind Jeff Burger at QB and Brent Fullwood. Lost two incredibly painful games against UF (blew a 17-point 4th quarter lead to a gimpy Kerwin Bell) and UGa (remembered more for "nothing smells like a wet Dawg" than the early whistle on what would have been a game-winning TD run by Fullwood).

Of course the irony would have been that we potentially would have finished 12-0 and still wouldn't have won the MNC (Miami and Penn State both finished undefeated and would have likely matched up in the Fiesta anyway) .

For LSU I would have to go with 2006

no doubt. lost to two top 10 teams on the road...including the national champs.
one of the best teams we have ever had and IMO the best team at the end of the year

But especially: '69(9-1,7th); '87(10-1-1,5th), and '06(11-2,3rd)....

Agreed. Surprised more Tiger fans didn't include '87.

Either 06: DMac, Felix, AND Hillis...

Or last year. Our defense lacked, but I firmly believe that LSU and Bama were the only two teams in the country that could have beaten us last year.
