Oh man, I am loving these threads. Responses from the math-challenged are hilarious.

Lol disagreeing with stats to determine best football teams doesn't mean you're *mathematically challenged. I'm simply picking at the system and pointing out aspects I disagree with.

You think 2014 Ole Miss would be 2007 LSU?

A healthy 2014 Ole Miss would. Ole Miss hasn't been 100% healthy since before the LSU game this season. The last game I think we were 100% was the Tennessee game.

Dude, teams aren't healthy the minute they put the pads on...but yeah, whatever makes you feel better.

I know it's impossible to tell, so I will just disagree. 2007 LSU was nothing special historically but ranking a 9-3 team ahead of a national champion isn't something I agree with, stats or not.

Yea, that is the point of these threads.

You act like it is difficult to find a poll/computer ranking/human ranking that doesn't have a bunch of "Alabama #1" on it over the last 10 years.

Oh I'm not saying we should be ranked ahead of them. Just saying that a healthy 2014 could beat a healthy 2007 LSU team.

Yea, I mean 2007 LSU lost to 8-5 Kentucky and 8-5 Arkansas and almost lost to 7-6 Alabama. They were a flawed team. I don't understand why the notion that 2014 Ole Miss could be them is crazy in any way. 2014 Ole Miss beat 2014 Alabama and 2014 Mississippi State, both of which are every bit as good as 2007 LSU.

Maybe you should start a thread about something people actually give a shite about...

I mean I'd be happy to only post the 2005-2007 numbers if that would make you feel better.

It just so happens Alabama has been winning and winning a lot since 2007. I liked these sorts of analytical analysis long before Alabama was good.

The gap between the top three and everyone else should be MUCH bigger.

2011 LSU/Bama and 2009 Bama would all crush 2014 Bama.

I don't think any of these teams would crush the other ones 7/10 times.

And I think 2014 Bama would give 2009 Bama all they wanted.

2011 bama and LSU would beat 2014 Bama 8/10 on a neutral site. Both of those teams were way more talented, especially on D.

Beat? I agree, 2011 UA/LSU would be 7-10 pt favorites. But crush just seems a bit over the top.
