Not SEC, but UGA-Clemson is intense when it happens

Even as a State fan, I agree with this. Those were some great games in the past.

The AU-TN was one of the best series in the SEC. From a fan standpoint it signaled the real start of the season for both fan bases. It was always an enjoyable trip to both campuses.

At least you concede that moving to the East would still leave you with a daddy issue

The Lonestar Showdown is the only one I miss. I hated having to play Baylor and Tech. We almost always beat BU and TTU always played great vs us, but win or lose their fans were a bunch of bitches. It is much more enjoyable in the SEC.

Might want to look at the title of the post again.

This thread would be a lot more interesting if it weren't limited to the SEC.

The one I miss the most is Nebraska/Oklahoma. That was a game I watched every year.

Pitt/Penn State was one I followed too (they start that one back up?). Pitt won the title about when I first started following football, and Penn State was perennially good.

Strange or not, I, nor anyone I have personally met gives one fig about Texas/Oklahoma.

Absolutely. I rushed the field in 2001 when Duval kicked the game winner. Auburn was huge under dogs and Florida was #2. It was right after September 11th and the weather was windy and rainy. 2006 was the loudest game I've ever heard when we blocked the punt and Tre Smith flipped into the end zone.

I'm younger so I don't remember the SEC before the divisions, but I'd like to see Georgia-Alabama or Georgia-LSU be annual.

I understand that LSU fans harbor a lot of resentment toward us because of what happened last season (and I can't really blame you guys for being pissed off about it), but while it was a step toward making the game more personal we're still a long ways away from being real rivals. I have a lot of respect for LSU's program and for the fans and I think that once LSU fans' ire toward our program simmers down that most Tiger fans should feel the same way about us. There are bad apples on each side and there's no shortage of dicktastic Gator fans but overall I think there's a mutual respect there at least once you get off the message boards.

I think you are overstating the impact of last year's game. LSU and UF have been playing annually since 1992, and there have been plenty of great games. On LSU's side, we ruined your 1997 championship hopes, we dashed your upset bid in 2007, and we kicked your arse in 2011. On UF's side, you crushed us almost every year from 1992 to 2001 (with the exception of 1997). You were the only team to beat us in 2003. You pushed us around in 2008.

I really do think LSU/UF is starting to turn into something.

Last year really got this thing going.
