Bert; then Mullen.
Anyone who says Freeze is lying. McElwain is excluded in my analysis (need more time to evaluate; see Gus Malzahn).

Where is Gus?
He and Sumlin have gone from geniuses to has-beens in just a few short years.

Les has a national title and has appeared in another one. It's him.

Lotta pieces to this.
Pure coaching: Pinkel is really good, I think Mason may be best defensively but still early and he is HEAD coach, Mullen is good pure offensive coach (These guys seem to elevate beyond talent on paper)
Recruiting: Miles, Jones, maybe Freeze, Richt (These guys don't really seem to elevate beyond the talent that walks in the door)
"Program" Management: Jones is actually really good
Total package: Not sure anyone combines the three in any way like Saban
Mac just got there so I don't know what to think yet

Be respectful and include Sumlin and Mason.
Sumlin AND Mason?
Mason improved himself as a coach and his team's on-field performance tremendously between his first and second seasons. They went from hot garbage to very close to making a bowl.
Sumlin's in his 8th season as a head coach. He's still not won a conference title anywhere and his aTm team's division finishes have gone from 2nd (tied) to 4th to 6th. Right now, in SEC season 4, they're sitting tied for 5th with a home loss to the 7th place team.
Why in the world would you disrespect Mason by throwing him in with Sumlin?

McElwain doesn't run a gimmick high school offense.

Yep, our future head coach is #2 in the league behind our current head coach. Agreed.

I like Mullens. He seems to have a good eye for spotting diamonds in the rough.
I think Bret is a good coach too, but I think he speaks before he thinks too much --- which is fine when you are winning but will get you killed when you are not.
McElwain is doing a great job! But I would like to see at least two more years.

Based on Improvement and physical play
Mc Elwain
Beliema
Butch Jones
Honestly regardless of records these guys here have their teams playing better than most of the traditional powers the last five years.

Yes, the percentage of black coaches that were mentioned in his post was not enough. White privilege check.

But the biggest difference is that Mac coaches fundamental, sound football. Gus runs a gimmick offense, that quite frankly isn't very fundamentally sound.
