It was nice of them to name their best beer after our mascot.

Druid looks pretty good from everything I have seen posted on here. Definitely excited to check them out in Tuscaloosa next year for the game

Gainesville only has a couple breweries right now, Swamphead, Alligator Brewing and First Magnitude, another one called Black Adder is opening up in the near future as well as Rainstorm Brewing in the little more distant future. Practically every restaurant and bar downtown is now serving craft beer with a emphasis on local. There are a few really good beer bars, House of Beer, Brass Tap, World of Beer and Crafty Bastards.

Midtown is still mostly macro beer because of the location to the cheaper students though there are still several bars with craft offerings. It's a growing scene in Gainesville and if any of you come down for a game in Gainesville I will be glad to meet you at First Magnitude and buy you a beer.

St Louis has an incredible beer and music scene. It and Nashville would be my choices. As far as SEC towns go its obviously going to be based on population as far as quantity. A tip of the hat to Athens for overall quality. I love Terrapin's stuff, and even though it's in Atlanta, frick it; Sweetwater is incredible too. They've really blown up it seems regionally.

Lexington is bourbon central first and foremost. Obviously we win that in a landslide. As for central KY breweries, we've got:
Country Boy
West Sixth
Alltech
Ethereal
Blue Stallion
Rooster
Beer Engine

I don't think anyone in the country comes close to what Denver has though. Damn near every restaurant brews their own beer it seems. Just amazing.

not just Columbia, the the state. Palmetto on Huger the oldest in Charleston (1993) and then I believe RJ Rockers in Spartanburg (1997).

Conquest sits just steps away from Williams-Brice.

That surprises me that a city as large as Baton Rouge only has 1 brew spot. I would have imagined that there would be at least a few go choose from.

Do you know if there are any plans going forward for expansion in that industry?

A lot of good beer in the state of Tennessee.

Yazoo out of Nashville, Yee-Haw from Johnson City and Alliance and Crafty Bastard out of Knoxville are some of my favorites. Wise Acre in Memphis cranks out some good cold ones as well

My favorite is probably Schlafly from St. Louis and the Wheat Ale at the Brew Co. in Springfield, Mo.

Had a chance to go to Schlafly a few weeks ago while in St. Louis for work. Really cool set up and enjoyed the few I tried while there.

Druid City and Black Warrior have some solid options but I don't know how they stack up with the rest of the SEC.

Terripan is my favorite SEC town brewery. The recreationALE is perfect for a warm day on the water, hitting the golf course, baseball games, etc.

I tried Schlafly not long ago as well. I thought it was decent but not great. Hops and Hollers in Knoxville sometimes has something from them on tap IIRC. I had Log Boat and Flat Branch several months ago and liked the beers I tried from both places. MO has a good beer scene.

I agree with many here that Terrapin does really good beer, their pale ales are balanced out well.

Country Boy out of lexington and RJ Rockers in SC are two from SEC states that I have liked as well.

I didn't know Crafty Bastard was from Knoxville. Good beer indeed.

Personally, I would recommend White River or Mothers before Brew Co.
