Did we ever figure out the actual rule here? Does it have to get to the post or the last link?

I don't even think they know. Remember the Michigan/South Carolina Outback bowl?

Called a first down.

Yeah, I don't get it.

If anybody knows, I'm genuinely curious.

Clowney jumping over the OL is still one of my favorites.

this play gets overlooked a lot, maybe bc it was in a loss, but it's one of my favorite gurley runs ever. There's been plenty of debate from 12-14 about the best RBs, but I just don't know if I've seen many other RBs who are capable of a run like this.

I don't know how he didn't break something on that run

Me too... sure wish we had talent like that 2011 and 2012 defense.

He was truly special. I honestly beleive he's the 2nd best RB we've ever had. I know Chubb is making everyone kinda forget about gurley, but there are some things gurley could do (see that video) that chubb simply can't. It's not JUST about yardage, which chubb will rack up in spades. You just got the feeling every time todd touched the ball he could house it.

Somehow, we got the penalty flag, even though we weren't the ones who initiated contact or through the punch....Did the REC move to Athens?

Surely you've heard the old saying of "they always catch the second man". I'm not sure why you're surprised by this.

I miss Super Melvin, he was a hell of a player. We didn't know how good we really had it with him and Clowney on the ends.

Yeah, sure, that's always a thing, but right when the Ref is looking directly at the Gurley headbutt? Not sure if I buy that.

Ah well, we still won the game and left Todd Gurley forever afraid of the sandstorm.

From CockyTalk after 2012 game:

The following was taken from the direct feed during breaks and commercials of Saturday nights game.

After first USC score
"That was quick" - Herbstreit

After USC interception:
"Watch out, the defense is dialed in" -Musburger
"Long game yet" -Herbstreit
"My they look good" - Musburger
"What?" -Herbstreit
"That defense gets rolling and watch out" - Musburger
"Georgia needs a stop"- Herbstreit

After USC second touchdown:
"That looked too easy" -Herbstreit
"It sure did" - Musburger
"Heather, are you red or white?" - Musburger (Not sure but I think this refers to which sideline she is currently on)
"She's red, going white" -Unknown male (In truck maybe)
"Heather?" -Unknown male (In truck maybe)
"Heather?" -Unknown male (In truck maybe)
"Can we get a field report? I don't think Heather has a copy" -Unknown male (Someone in booth)
"It's awfully loud down there"- Musburger
"10-4" -Unknown male (reply to field report question from someone in truck)

Coming back from break following second score:
"Do we have Heather?" - Musburger
"Yes, will use first break S-1 and return. She cannot hear truck ques"- Unknown male. (Truck guy probably)

Following punt return for TD:
"Can you believe this?" -Herbstreit
"Can't hear a thing" - Musburger
"They don't have a clue right now" -Herbstreit
"Can I get an adjustment, I can't hear"- Musburger
"Can you feel this? Is our room moving?" - Herbstreit
" 6 west just said the same thing" - Unknown male (Booth guy refering to camera guy stating his position is shaking)
" Like bouncing kinda" -Background voice (Different booth guy replying to Herbstreit)
"I think it is" - Herbstreit
" South Carolina smacked them with that one" -Musburger
" I don't know if they come back from this one" -Herbstreit
" Is this the best scene in college football you've seen Herbie?" -Musburger
" I don't know if it's the best ever, but it's the scariest yeah" -Herbstreit
" Remarkable scene" -Musburger
" Unbelievable" - Herbstreit
