Jeff Grantz ... 2nd Team All-American in '76 or '77, I can't remember which.
Ronnie "Sunshine" Bass.
Anthony Wright ... I mean the guy was incredible and a dozen years in the NFL proves it. Could run with the ball, had a sweet delivery and threw a perfect accurate spiral just about every time it left his hand. Could make all the throws. But Brad Scott found a way to under-use him at SC and we never realized his true potential. It's a wonder Fat Brad Scott did not ruin him.
Phil Petty ... just a solid college QB. Made very few mistakes. Knew how to play the game. Was tough. Again, almost ruined by Brad Scott.

LSU: Rohan, Wickersham, Hodson
UGA: Shockley
UF: Leak
Bama: Andrew Zow
Mizzou: Chase Daniel
Arkansas: Casey Dick to Marcus Monk (always dominated against LSU, that's the only reason I'm putting Dick on the list)
SCar: Syvelle Newton was really exciting to watch

Phil Petty was my coach at the manning passing academy, dude was a G. Always pulled for him after that. Plus we both wore #14

Wasn't it Sloan that got Ole Miss on probation then Brewer tried to get them the death penalty?
No. It was under Brewer both times. 1987 and 1994.

Jeff Rutledge gets no credit for the National Title in '78 and had a decent NFL career.
Has a Super Bowl ring too.....
He was a backup but he still got that motherfricker.
I actually won an ESPN goodie bag in Dallas this year for answering who Alabama's 4 Super Bowl winning QB's were and he was the one that nobody could remember. Too bad the damn shirt in that bag was too small for my fat arse.

Andy Kelly.
Threw for 6,400 yards, 36 TDs. Finished 24-5-2 as a starter and left UT as the career leader in total offense, passing yardage, attempts, completions and touchdowns.

THIS. Can't believe it took this long for a Bama fan to mention him. Far and away the best "forgotten" quarterback in Alabama history.

Jon Brittenum. If he didn't get hurt in the '66 Cotton Bowl Arkansas gets back-to-back national titles.

I would say Jake Gibbs is the best QB from Ole Miss that not many people remember......at least not any students. He won us our last National Championship. He was drafted by the New York Yankees and the Houston Oilers in 1962. Jake chose baseball and played for the Yankees from 1962-1971. Gibbs was an assistant football coach during the offseason and mentored Archie Manning. After his retirement from the Yankees, he went on to coach the Ole Miss Rebels to their only College World Series appearance in 1972.It's sad that over half of the current students at Ole Miss could not tell you who he is.

Also reggie mcneal. 5 star out of HS, and before his senior year at A&M he was projected as a 1st rounder.

First time the whole nation of armchair quarterbacks was right. "lets trade up for a fifth rounder in the first".
