I wish Snead could've been in this conversation...he had so much potential.

AJ and Murray being mentioned is a joke. Manziel is quite possibly a system QB. Cam simply wasn't as good as Tebow in college.

Dak Prescott had as good a season this year as any of those. 4500 yards and 42 TD's while playing two fewer games than Cam and Tebow in their biggest seasons. I'll give him my vote because he didn't have the supporting cast Tebow did. Honorable mention to Tebow.

Prescott played in 13 games. Newton played in 14 games. Nice math skills.

Did it ever cross your mind, that even with that one extra game, Prescott still was responsible for 62 more plays? That he threw over 100 more passes than Newton? That he also had a lower completion percentage, lower yards/att, lower TD:ATT ratio, and higher INT:ATT ratio?

That's the problem you have when you ignore the in-depth statistics and just glance at total numbers.

Honestly I completely forgot and counted the 15 games currently. And I have a hard time believing Dak had more snaps this year, our backup played the equivalent of a few games, Dak played 13 games but missed a quarter or more in 5 of them.

I would argue that total numbers are far more important. The totals factor in the "in-depth statistics". If a QB throws 10 INT's he inherently has 10 fewer opportunities to score a TD and is directly affecting his total yards.

Your two posts should be brought over to the "most delusional fanbase" thread.

And, of course, no other QB missed time due to blowouts

You can argue it all you want, but Dak was responsible for 606 plays and Newton 544. Those are facts. Just because you want to put your fingers in your ears and ignore it doesn't change the way the real world works.

sure you would. I guess Mike Leach's QBs are always the best in the country because of all the yardage they throw for. Connor Halliday is the best QB in the country because he averages throwing for 430 yards a game. We'll just ignore that he also throws it 58 times a game (well he did, before his injury) because TOTAL NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!

Cool.

Dak threw more INTs than both Newton and Tebow. Along with having the worst attempt:int ratio of the three.

Yeah, I'm not arguing, just thought it seemed off. I didn't remember Cam spending much time on the bench that year and thought Gus was running his up tempo offense. You're definitely right.

There is definitely a trade off as far as total yards go. At some point you are trying to gauge total productivity. That's different for every team, we had by far the best offensive season we've ever had, so nobody is really concerned about him throwing a few picks.

In the end you are still trying to directly compare Apples and Oranges. I'm willing to bet that Dak, or Nick Marshall for that matter, could have recorded a higher % with Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez, and Riley Cooper to throw the rock to. How would they perform in a vacuum? I'm not really sure, but their numbers are all good enough to consider.
