I really hope yal come out with that attitude. Both SC and LSU came out with the mindset that they had to come out in double tight formations and establish their SEC power running attack. Clemson's defense is far from dominant, but they're decent in the front 7 in BOB situations.

Fortunately for us LSU never modified this mindset and lost with something like 8 three-and-outs. SC was smart enough to realize they could have much more success running (and subsequently passing) from sets that spread Clemson out. Our front seven is big and strong but they lack elite athleticism and this is seen when they have to play in space.

UGA's running attack doesn't scare me from the double tight I form. We'll be able to be serviceable against that. What terrifies me is when they run from 11 personnel or when they come out in 20 with Marshall motioning out against a LB.

That's where we'll struggle.

At the same time, we gonna bend dat arse over when we're on offense.

That's all a bunch of jibber jabber. Your crowd at home at night is your best weapon, our offense runs on Murray calling plays after the defense is lined up, if your crowd takes that out of the game, that's your biggest weapon.

As far as tight formations and opening holes, if Gurley and our OL can rush 165 on Bama, then we can sure as shite do it on you.

What you said about our defense is fair, but misguided.

Spurrier laughs at this. SC has nearly doubled Clemson in TOP the last couple of years. Run it down there throats. Dink and dunk it on the pass game. Keep their offense off the field. When they finally get a chance to get in they won't be nearly as efficient.

I see 3 perennial choke artists on that list.

All ACC teams.

It will certainly play a part.

Um, ok?

You had most of your success against Bama from ace formations just as I'm trying to point out. Do you understand your own personnel and schemes?

How so?

If we were playing Spurrier I'd be much more worried. Spurrier >>>> Richt and it's inarguable.

I honestly couldn't think of 5 worth mentioning. Stanford is probably the only team that could even compete with the SEC champ.

In terms of pure coaching ability if recruiting and the ability to transition to the pro level was taken out of the equation Paul Johnson would be up there with anyone.

He knows his system as well as anyone in the game. His problem is his system is archaic, and he can't recruit the athletes to run it. When he has them, he's exceptional. UGA and Clemson have both seen first hand what his offense can do with talent.

Stanford getting a lot of love here...Oregon a little less. Their HC was the OC so I don't know if they'll slip much.

Well, like you said earlier, there really is a SEC/TheRest gap...right now anyway.
