He made it a better job. He will run into the same problem Cal did at Memphis where you basically have to run train on your entire conference just to get a decent bid, especially considering Creighton left the conference.

I honestly think y'all hiring Pearl helps make our job more appealing. Having a good instate rival makes it more interesting.

"Wichita is a better job"

It's a very good job mostly BECAUSE of Marshall and it's the only show in town. It's a long shot no doubt, but not a pipe dream.

Memphis is a great job no matter the conference with their recruits and facilities. You act the SEC is some dominate league...

He has made it past the sweet sixteen once and has a couple 1st round flamouts. Nearly lost to a 15 seed one year.

He is a great hire for Auburn, but this board is overrating him a bit too much.

Ironic. You know, since JP wasn't a HC until Brooks retired at the end of the 09 season.

Want to try again, genius?

When they made their run to the championship game the NCAA gave them a gauntlet just like they did to Wichita this year. It isn't a coincidence that the 8 seed they will most likely face everyone thought should be a 5 seed. And the 4 seed they will have to face everyone thinks should have been a 2 or a 3 and has like the 2nd or 3rd best odds to win the championship.

The selection committee loves to frick mid majors.

Could make the same argument for Virginia and Michigan State, hell I think it was Louisville last year that had the bracket from hell. I don't think the committee would treat Bama any better that WSU

Not really. Their possible 8/9 matchup isn't nearly as difficult. Michigan is probably the best 2 seed in the tournament, while Villanova is probably the weakest. Wichita also has Duke in their region.

Virginia's path outside of MSU is much easier.

ISU > Duke. Either way don't see Marshall leaving WSU for a school like bama
