I said that Alabama almost lost to Arkansas. I was just making a comparison that would bring into question his assertion that somehow Alabama is an inferior team to MSU, despite the numerous evidence against that accusation.

I never said Bama was an inferior team to MSU. I stated I didnt expect Bama to not be able to smother the LSU running game when we had no passing attack. I actually was afraid of another 1/9 offensive showing.

Your QB completed 8 passes and had an interception. Your team tried to run the ball 56 times against Alabama and averaged 3.3 ypc. Your longest run came from your QB scrambling for 15 yards.

skirpnasty

And yet, if not for a bullshite call, they win in regulation. Both if your teams are lackluster. State is going to put the cleats to Bama and end this nonsensical delusion.

This is the main thing I was stating. We had no business being in the game at the end, yet we were on the verge of winning it. Many may not want to admit it, but it is a cause for concern for a LOT of Bama fans. Gonna have to have a better showing to beat Miss State. Prescott is stratospheres better than Jennings.

Seriously though, the best chance may be for Alabama to beat Miss. St., but I suspect they'll sink like a rock if they lose.

Agreed. State would have needed Ole Miss to remain ranked high and beat them to close out the season and spark the controversy of the SEC deserving 2 teams.

you also need FSU to lose at least once possibly twice. Big12 more likely to get two than SEC right now. Which is to say not likely.

If Miss State loses close I think they still get in the playoffs, as long as they dont stumble against Ole Miss
As hard as it is to say this, I completely agree with you.

Y'all have a game in Arkansas in a few days. Coming off a very physical and emotional loss like the team just experienced, how do you think the team will perform?

Have less of a problem with this than everyone else around here seems to.

Top 5 recruiting classes last 3 years.
Undefeated in 2012, 1 loss last year in last game of season (not counting bowl games, because really who cares about postseason if it's not the NC. Not UGA, thats for sure, unless it's against Hawaii).

And maybe I'm still blined by them being able to beat miami in '02/'03 despite being clearly outmatched. Their game against LSU wasn't even quite as bad as everyone seems to remember (outgained LSU by over 100 yards)

Suppose none of that is enough to outweigh the crappy schedule this year and horrible loss

That's why Alabama is favored

Vegas knows that the officials are siding with Bama. Come on man, it's too obvious.

All bull aside, that should really be a topic of concern for the Bama team. Should have been able to completely smother us. Weak D-line play or LBs, or a combination of the 2?

FSU loses one and they drop like a rock due to poor SOS of the ACC

I saw this elsewhere and it is a valid point. If Bama beats us in a very close game, we won't fall far (maybe down to 4 or 5). If we both win out - we should both be in.
