Which means, the powers that be will do what needs to be done to ensure that outcome. Millions of dollars are at stake, not going to let Miss State walk out of Tuscaloosa with a win.

That's why Alabama is favored. It all makes sense.

Seriously though, the best chance may be for Alabama to beat Miss. St., but I suspect they'll sink like a rock if they lose.

Nah, I never melted, expected we would fall short in that game. Was surprised that Bama was weaker than I thought though. When you are playing against a team that has bad Qb play and you know we are going to run and still cant stop it, that doesnt bode well for you guys.

you also need FSU to lose at least once possibly twice.

Big12 more likely to get two than SEC right now. Which is to say not likely.

Alabama will beat State

Win out

Win the SEC

Get the 1 or 2 seed with FSU (assuming FSU doesn't slip against Miami or UF)

The 3 and 4 seeds will be Ohio St, TCU, Baylor or Oregon unless 3 of them loses. If 1 loses then State gets in over TCU and Baylor. Ohio State has the worst loss of them all to VT. But Baylor lost by double digits to WVu. TCU has the best loss. Oregon is Oregon so they will be considered but where it will be interesting is the comparison of wins for OSU and Oregon over Michigan St

All bull aside, that should really be a topic of concern for the Bama team. Should have been able to completely smother us. Weak D-line play or LBs, or a combination of the 2?

Need to keep it very close if they lose. Seems doubtful that SEC gets 2 teams in anyway.

Truth be told, Miss St better win or they probably miss out. Just too many good 1 loss teams out there now. Baylor and TCU are getting a lot of run in the media and both will jump over the loser in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Its laughable that Ohio State could actually get into the playoffs..

If Miss State loses close I think they still get in the playoffs, as long as they dont stumble against Ole Miss.

Your QB completed 8 passes and had an interception.
Your team tried to run the ball 56 times against Alabama and averaged 3.3 ypc. Your longest run came from your QB scrambling for 15 yards.

I don't understand how that isn't smothering. The only thing that decided not to show up for a half was the offense. Our D-line play was great most of the night, and Ragland had something like 15 tackles.

You were outgained, outscored, and Alabama had more penalty yards against than you did. At home.

And yet, if not for a bullshite call, they win in regulation. Both if your teams are lackluster. State is going to put the cleats to Bama and end this nonsensical delusion.

Not all of us expected to win that game. Yeah, I'm just like the majority, I felt like there were very questionable calls at the end that cost us the opportunity to win, but unlike other year,s a National Championship was already out of the realm for us, so its a bit easier to get over.

All bull aside, when you have to run the ball fifty times, with lots of quarterback scrambles, it only seems as if you weren't being smothered. You were.

LSU average 3.3 ypc. You ran the ball 56 times. How exactly did Bama not stop it? Your offense basically scored 10 points since the last three were given to you by the fumble.

You're right because in your version we are to assume that no matter what, if LSU isn't given that penalty, they score a TD.

Then we're to assume that Alabama doesn't score a TD even with driving the length of the field in 50 seconds and getting within 9 yards.

Then we're to assume Alabama doesn't do any of the things it did in OT.

Then we're to assume the Tigers win. Gotchya.

Also didn't you almost lose to Arkansas, just like us? Weren't you at home for that game?

Or how about the Aggies? At home as well, still surrendered 31 points. Meanwhile Alabama crushes them at home by 59, and you think State puts the cleats to Bama at their house? You're delusional if this is how easy you think it's going to be.
