You seem awful upset considering the hardware you mentioned.

Take '64 or '65, we'll take the other. Everyone knows '66 is yours, direct your anger that way.

I'd rank Bama's this way.

1. Alabama 2008-2012 (61-7)

2008 - 12-2, top ten finish
2009 - 14-0, National Champions; SEC Champs
2010 - 10-3, top ten finish
2011 - 12-1, National Champions
2012 - 13-1, National Champions; SEC Champs

2. Alabama 1961-1965 (49-5-1)

1961 - 11-0, National Champions; SEC Champs
1962 - 10-1, top five finish
1963 - 9-2, top ten finish
1964 - 10-1, National Champions; SEC Champs
1965 - 9-1-1, National Champions; SEC Champs

3. Alabama 1977 - 1981 (53-6-1)

1977 - 11-1, SEC Champions, top five finish
1978 - 11-1, National Champions; SEC Champs
1979 - 12-0, National Champions; SEC Champs
1980 - 10-2, top ten finish
1981 - 9-2-1, SEC Champions, top ten finish

And one that was not posted....

4. Alabama 1971-1975 (54-6)

1971 - 11-1, SEC Champs, Top 5
1972 - 10-2, SEC Champs, Top 10
1973 - 11-1, National Champs, SEC Champs
1974 - 11-1, SEC Champs, Top 5
1975 - 11-1, SEC Champs, Top 5

I'd rank Bama's current run ahead of the one from the 60's (where all 3 titles were shared in some form).

Miles got blown out at home by Dennis Franchione in 2004.

Your the one who brought it up originally. There's no reason to shake your head or argue about it. The AP & and UPI both awarded us their national championship trophies. Those wire services are as legit as it gets. It's ours and there is nothing you can say or argue that will undo what was done.

If you want to claim '64 for yourself because the FWAA then by means do so. I couldn't care less.

Even if we hadn't been robbed by the refs on the goal line and beat Texas in the Orange Bowl you'd still say Alabama didn't deserve the national title.

Bama takes both. And don't care, Bama got the hardware.

AU's would be:

1986: 10-2, 2nd in SEC, #6 AP
1987: 9-1, SEC champ, #7 AP
1988: 10-2, SEC champ, #7 AP
1989: 10-2, SEC champ, #6 AP
1990: 8-3, #19 AP

3 straight SEC champs, 4 years in a row losing 2 games or less and AP top 10 under Dye.

4) Florida 2005 - 2009

2005 - 9-3, top 15 finish
2006 - 13-1, National Champions
2007 - 9-4, top 15 finish
2008 - 13-1, National Champions
2009 - 13-1, top five finish

5) LSU 2003 - 2007

2003 - 13-1, National Champions
2004 - 9-3, top 20 finish
2005 - 11-2, top five finish
2006 - 11-2, top five finish
2007 - 12-2, National Champions

I'd exchange these two, simply because, in addition to the 2 NCs, LSU had two Top 5 finishes in their span, Florida only had one.

No, then I'd say you were undefeated and deserved a national title.

Sorry you couldn't beat a cheating Texas team. We didn't have the same problem.

I'd also rank Bama's 1977-1981 slightly ahead of 1961-1965 run because Bama finished #2 in 1977 and may have been screwed even worse that year than 1966. If you add 1966 to the early 60s run you have the greatest 6 year run in SEC history.

The greatest decade long run was Alabama's 1971-1979 run. 3 national titles, a #2 finish, and 8 SEC titles

But we were undefeated when the national title was awarded to us. We didn't have to go to a bowl game because they were not required to increase your standing in the minds of voters back in the day. Maybe we didn't play as hard in the Orange Bowl as a result? We already had the hardware. It didn't matter by that point.

Already been over this point a lot. So you're telling me the best coach in college football history didn't have his team up to play a team he had trouble beating?
