I appreciate your prediction, but my question was slightly different. Do you think he has earned another year by the product on the field?
So far this year? Even with the lopsided losses he still has a good chance to finish with a 9-4 record. I'd say he's earned a very provisional right to be back next year.
We shall see if Samuel Johnson's observation holds true for Bert "When a man knows he is to be hanged...it concentrates his mind wonderfully."

Long's first choice from the last search is available.

Figuratively anyway, irl I'm sitting on my butt simmering.

He's wanting out of there. Wanted to try his hand at the SEC but now wants back in the B1G. Wants to go home.

Considering the bare cupboard Petrino left, it's tough to hold the first two years against Bert.
A better gauge may be last year and this year.

The question is ridiculous we're stuck with Bret for another year at bare minimum I personally think two. I would say this team is less competitive than 2015, but at least this year there's an obvious formula for our issues rather than just choking right at the end. Our O line can't handle a solid pass rush or get much push in the run game, and our linebackers are not fast enough to get out on stretch run plays or cover pretty much anyone with above average speed. Better recruiting is necessary in both areas. We've obviously had other areas that contributed to our loses but those are by far the most glaring. Alabama, A&M, Auburn, and LSU all have great D lines, and above average speed all across the board, and they were all blowouts. It's an obvious trend. Robb Smith is probably gone, but the season is not over yet, so ya never know. But nah, Bert's going nowhere. He'll probably win out and also therefore have another season of improvement. That would also mean he would need to win 10 games to stick with the trend next season and that's where his seat could actually start to get hot.

Coach O has won more SEC games this season that Bert did his first 2 years. fricking sad

Petrino left them an 11-2 team coming off a cotton bowl appearance. Arkansas decided to make things worse by promoting JohnEL. The narrative that Petrino fricked them is false. They screwed themselves by hiring a dysfunctional idiot to guide them through the transition.

I thought the expectation coming into this season was kind of low for y'all...is that not the case?
This is true. Hog fans weren't really expecting a 9-3 or 10-2 type season. 8-4 would be about expected.
However how is next year really looking any better? From what I'm seeing Arkansas is losing 4 starters on offense and 5 on defense.
2 WR
LT
TE
2 DE
1 DT
1 LB
1 CB
And Bielema really hasn't been recruiting well.
First step for Bielema this offseason is finding a new DC.

We probably already have one. Paul Rhoads got hired on as the secondary coach when he lost the head coaching job at Iowa State last year.

Personally the Florida win calmed me down a bit. I was hoping to be competitive vs Lsu but ohh well. If he wins out and goes 9-4 I'm definitely ok with that for this year because that is slightly better than I thought we would be. Plus 9-4 in a admitted rebuilding year doesn't bug me.

I mean he is right were most Arkansas coaches have been, actually probably a little bit better.

Is 9-4 in year 4 (assuming he can even get there), really good enough for a program that aspires to be the flagship?
