The problem is with the word "fat" itself.

There are other ways to get the point across.

Bert is chubby.

Bert is plump.

Bert is full-figured.

Bert is pudgy.

Bert is fleshy.

My personal favorite ... Bert is rotund.

Bert is ... well, the gheys probably like to think of him as ample, but that's almost sick.

We could be nice and simply call him hefty.

It is agreed though, that "fat" is overused when referring to Bert.

Or Bert is elephantine. Saying with the same large mammal theme we could go with "whalelike."

How many National Championships did he win at UW? He does have a solid job strategy, if he can win at least 1 conference game this year it would be an improvement and noone can say he regressed!
