Sad to see a guy that is worshipped by this league for several decades couldn't represent us better. A legacy tarnished by quitting in the end. Smh. Good luck with the hire, cocks

If it was health related why he quit then I could understand, but just to quit like that I do not agree with

Beamer is not a sore loser.

Didn't Petrino quit the Falcons to go to Arkansas?
Didn't Bielema quit Wisconsin before the bowl game?
Don't you preach to us about this crap.

A real man leads a team even when he knows he isn't good enough to do it?

Spurrier is a sore loser and a quitter. No matter what he's done in life, he can't change that.

I'm pretty sure Spurrier wasn't worshiped in the 90s.
More like feared and hated with the fire of a billion suns.

How?
Nobody is talking about Sarkesian being a drunk making the PAC12 look bad, but Spurrier stepping aside does?
South Carolina fans don't care. We're happy to have moved on. Spurrier doesn't care. He's relaxing and enjoying himself. The SEC doesn't care.
Move on with your lives. Spurrier is no longer SEC related. RAd for OT board

No I'm not, but go ahead and chalk up whatever tally you feel you must.
The RA thing was clearly a joke.

Will the goiter be retained to coach special teams?

Spurrier is a pussy

When the coach of South Carolina resigns?
If Steve Spurrier wasn't the coach of South Carolina, would people outside the SEC even notice?
Spurrier is the story.
And that's why he resigned. He felt like he was no longer worth his hype so he stepped aside to let Shawn Elliott take the reins.

Yeah-pretty rich. Piggies aren't above poaching coaches, but look down their snouts when someone retires on his own accord.

And we've improved since. Not by much. But you can see it.
Did he do the right thing? Who knows. Was it the right thing for South Carolina? So far, yes.
My favorite part about this is it's widely considered that Beamer stayed five years too long. He built the program up and then tore it down. Spurrier left before that happened. Could he have stayed until the end of the year? Sure. But what does it matter?
He's giving Shawn Elliot a chance. He said himself "if I stayed until the end, we're all fired". He gave Elliot a chance to prove his worth before everyone gets the axe.

I was joking. It really just makes Spurrier look bad. Beamer looks like an honorable man.
