They would be able to calculate pretty closely how quickly she metabolized the alcohol and know what her BAC was at the time of the alleged attack

True. All I'v seen so far is that the toxicology report showed her within legal limits when it was taken. I haven't seen any estimates about her level of impairment at the time of the alleged rape.

Rape is an extremely underreported crime - statistics estimate maybe 10% get reported. I just don't think this case has the hallmarks of a girl falsely accusing someone, or being spiteful - she called police an hour or so after it happened, and went to the hospital for a rape kit the same night. She didn't know who it was when she made the report - only said she had been raped. But, they probably won't be able to prove it.

I still say the detective that discouraged her from pursuing the case should be fired and charged with obstruction. arse.

I have never been raped, but if I had been, I doubt I would be able to put together a coherent story withing 5 hours of being raped.

I knew a girl who was raped. She said she was hysterical afterwards

Everyone reacts differently. Some are hysterical. Some are just shattered. Some are more calm. Some are calm then, and fall apart weeks or months (or even years) down the road. Most rapes are committed by someone the victim knows, and if it's someone they trusted it can take a while to process it all.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to react, so I don't think you can read too much itno that.

I agree.

Statistics on unreported crimes are mostly guesses and usually done by someone with an agenda to skew them.

Based only on this information, I agree. But there is other information known by the investigators that we don't know at this time.

We don't know what his motivations were. What he told her was right. IF it was merely informative so she made an informed decision, then I disagree that he should be fired. If he was trying to influence her, then I agree he should be fired.

Sure, rape as defined by the militant feminist. Some of you guys have totally bought into the myth of the supposedly inherent virginal, saintly aspects of womanhood.

This is another one of those bogus statistics to drum up outrage.

Whatever his motivations were, that dude fricked up the case and likely his career. Sucks to suck. Protocol exists for a reason. And the biggest reason is to keep dumbasses from dumbassing something up.

Probably whatever amount of rapes is Pareto efficient.

None, but I guess to people like you any number of false rape accusations are justified because all men are just scum.

What a pathetic argument.

I kinda feel like if it were confirmed that she and Winston had sex, that she had a date rape drug in her system, and she claimed rape, that Winston would have been charged immediately

You'd think. That the PD didn't take it to the DA at the beginning, is what I find disconcerting.

How did she determine that it was Winston that allegedly raped her?

Well, when you've been hooking up with Winston for a while you tend to know who the guy you just had sex with. It will eventually come out that she had had consensual sex with JW'S before.

Her story has been...ummmm, inconsistent to say the least. She would make the chick from Zimmerman's trial look like a model witness.
