Alabama - Lose Obasohan and Coleman. Bring in a bunch of good wings. Should be decent, but don't think they're a tournament team yet.
Arkansas - Lose Bell and Whitt, bring in a bunch of JUCOs, Barford looking to be the best of the bunch. If Kingsley stays, they could fight for a tourney spot.
Auburn - Another rebuilding year. Freshmen Heron and Harper could be starters right away.
Florida - Lose DFS and maybe Devin Robinson, return everything else. If Hill's better play extends into next year, should be one of the best teams in the conference.
Georgia - Lose Mann and Gaines, but this team was the Frazier and Maten show regardless. Should be one of the better teams in the conference and fight for a tourney bid.
Kentucky - is Kentucky.
LSU - Desperately needs Blakeney back. Is going to be one of the youngest teams in the conference with not nearly as much talent.
Mississippi State - Should be one of the most talented teams in the conference, but also one of the youngest teams. High ceiling, low floor.
Missouri - will be bad again. Probably not as bad, but still bad.
Ole Miss - Should be a typical Kennedy team. Needs Saiz to be a beast and/or Burnett to be an instant impact player if it wants to be anything more.
South Carolina - Frontcourt will be extremely young and unproven -- backcourt will need to carry the team. And I don't think it's good enough to carry the team past the middle-of-the-pack of the conference.
Tennessee - Lose Punter and Moore. Needs Mostella and Hubbs to step up the scoring. Will probably be a bottom feeder.
Texas A&M - Lose Caruso, House, and Jones, so it's time for that 2015 recruiting class to step up. Should be preseason #2 behind Kentucky.
Vanderbilt - Could be good depending on who stays. We'll see.

not a bad writeup. I think Gaines is criminally underrated by many, but Frazier and Maten are huge returnees. Ogebedie as well. If last year's FR can improve and our 2 guard signees give some solid minutes we should be on the bubble again.

If Willie Jackson has a decent freshman year, we could finish middle of the pack. But that probably wont happen and we win 10 games

bullshite. There's at least one more Gaines out there. Will definitely transfer in as a grad student.

Outlandish, I know, seeing how we were a bubble team this year. We lost Retin and a couple of role players, but add several good fowards/guards and get our starting PG back from injury.

What an analysis. What would we ever do without your input.
We won't know until the deadline whether we get Lee, Briscoe, or Willis back. I think all three do, but who knows what they'll hear at the combine. Matthews returns (had limited PT this year but highly rated coming in) as well as Humphries and New Zealand transfer Tai Wynyard. It's another top class coming in but with a much better quality class then we've seen in the last couple of seasons. Could be the right mix of veterans and youth to make a deep run again.

6. Arkansas
7. Vanderbilt
8. Alabama
9. Ole Miss
10. South Carolina

I'm shocked the gator doesn't think SC will be good this season....
We'll beat y'all again next year. Although, your 'quality losses' will dwarf our's.

Alabama wasn't a bubble team this year. You were on the bubble for two weeks but didn't stay on the bubble for long.
Obasohan was by far Alabama's best player this year. I don't think the combination of Ingram + Key/King/Davis will completely replace his production.
I expect you to be roughly what you were this year -- a lower seed in the NIT.

I think Auburn will be a top 8 SEC team.
C- Trayvon Reed
F - Horace Spencer
F - Daniel Purifoy
G - Bryce Brown
G - Mustapha Heron
Bench
G - TJ Dunans
G - Tahj Shamsid-Deen
G - TJ Lang
G - New Williams
They'll need to add a big guy or two from transfers, but that is a talented roster.

In other words unless non conf gets significantly better SEC is looking at another 2/3 bid league at most. It's hard to put a finger on why SEC can't get better in hoops. maybe over time the SEC network windfall will improve facilities across conference. There is no reason for Big 12 to be a better hoops conference than SEC.

I think a lot depends on how good King is. If he turns into a 15-16 PPG player who can be counted on to score, then we could be a bubble team. If he isn't, we will probably win 17-18 games again.
Dazon Ingram coming back is huge, though. He was very good the first month or so as a true freshman.

Mike will officially be on the hot seat if his team doesn't make the tourney. JUCOs are always a crap shoot

Who's the PG in that starting five? Brown? Heron?
I don't expect much out of Reed. And Purifoy, regardless of what practice reports have said, has never played a game in college.
It's a very unproven roster without a true PG or any bigs I expect to contribute offensively. So I'm not expecting much next year.

They'll have to figure that out, for sure. It may end up Brown coming off the bench and Dean running the point again.

I mean, same could be said for a large chunk of the best players in college basketball these days.

A lot of good teams in CBB these days are like that, and S-Dean is a true PG. He isn't great, but he's a veteran point guard who has played a lot.
I don't think they'll win 30 games, but I think they'll be somewhere between 50-100 in the RPI by the start of March.
