I get excited for baseball for maybe a month. Its hope springs eternal.
Then it just gets old. 162 games is a lot.

Football is far more exciting than baseball, but baseball is easier to play. I think many more kids play baseball than football. Kind of like soccer.

Not really, Football is the biggest thing in the south. In the east and especially the northeast, it's all about basketball.

Baseball is an international sport and the following in America just isn't what it was in the 90's. Baseball will come back but it still has a huge blackeye from the steroid era. The latinos/Dominicans are keeping the game alive and once MLB gets back out and focuses on little leagues again baseball will recover. It's just a matter of time. That being said, Football is king currently until they have a strike and then something else might pass it.

Football is Americas passion
Baseball is Americas past time.
Baseball is a more laid back relaxing sport to watch.

America's pastime is football. Been that way for awhile now.

The problem with baseball is that every single game isnt important. You could go on a 20 game skid and still be fine come October. Also it takes alot less time to get over a baseball loss than a football loss. There are 4-6 games a week in baseball. In football if you lose on Saturday you have a whole week to mull over it.
Americas pastime is still baseball.
Football is alot more emotional.

I turn it on if I want to take a nap, so I guess it still fits.

These are some reasons why baseball is no longer our national pastime.

Seems as good a synopsis as any. Football is the event you look forward to for a week, baseball* is the think that's always there to watch. They fill different needs.
*professional baseball...not this college bullshite.

Does baseball draw in more money than football?
No,average NFL brings in about $287 million in revenues.MLB about
$237 million. If you add CFB revenues/ratings it's not even close.
MLB also has a bigger issue drawing in younger fans.

I like Pro, College and HS baseball. All fun to watch for different reasons.

Popularity, especially the NFL is more of a farce.
1/2 the teams can't even sell out 8 f'in home games. 8 f'in home games.
If not for Office pools, gambling, and fantasy football, it would be lucky to be on 3 days a week.
for christs sake, they had to take it off ABC, because of the shite ratings.
Teams play 1 game a week, yet still half cant sell out.
Yeah, what a great popular sport, backed by gambling and degenerate fantasy nerds. the bubble will burst eventually.

you were on a roll....
Then you went fantasy nerds. Everybody knows fantasy baseball was the beginning of all of the nerds in sports phenomenon.

I mean, when you get 81 home games it's kinda skewed. It takes 3 baseball sellouts (which do not happen often) to equal one football sellout.
Now if baseball was played once a week you'd easily have sell outs. Not easy to attend every baseball game when you work, especially during the week.
But get to the MLB playoffs then you have sell outs, higher ticket prices. Tickets going for over $500 for cheap seats.

Howie Long said it best. Baseball may be America's pastime but football is America's passion.

LMAO!WTF are you talking about? The NFL is the most successful pro sport in the
history of pro sports in America. TV and radios contracts alone are worth $7 BILLION
annually.Ratings have never been better. You think its because of "fantasy nerds"?
MLB wouldl kill for its ratings and per game attendence percentages and BTW fantasy baseball came out
WAY before NFL fantasy ball.
I get it,you're not a fan of the NFL but quit be so freakin delusional about its popularity
And you're from a great MLB town which is equally shitty as an NFL town.Just about
the only city in the country that can make that case.
