So you mention one of State's bad series and then go on to say how one series doesn't make a ranking as you clearly only factored in that one series to justify you terrible ranking of State.

DUH, to counter point your USCe mention.
Look, these are opinions, 3,4,5, and even 6 are all close. Taking into account SOS of teams played in the SEC currently, and looking at games teams lost I came to my conclusion, you have your opinion and I have mine. Bama has lost four 2-1 games, a 2-0 game and a 1-0 game. Pitching is a beast.

All I know is that if somehow State ends up 4-2 the next two weekends against LSU and Ole Miss, they are going to be tough to catch on their way to being the worst SEC Championship baseball team ever.
I can hear it now: State won but they didn't have to play South Carolina, Florida or Kentucky.
State playing Missouri, Texas A&M and Tennessee while Bama is playing South Carolina, Florida and LSU is going to create some distance before that final weekend series in Tuscaloosa.
My guess is that South Carolina has a game lead on Mississippi State headed into the final weekend. USC is at Vandy and MSU is at Bama.
Going to be lots of scoreboard watching.

No one made any excuses for us last year when we had to play South Carolina, @Kentucky, Florida, and @Vandy. So, I'm not going to make any this year for when the schedule flipped into our favor.
Things are setting up for a huge series in Baton Rouge and in Starkville the next 2 weekends though... 2 of the top 5 rivalries in college baseball IMO...

Race for SEC Championship/Hosting:
1. South Carolina (most impressive overall team)
2. Mississippi State (hard to score on Lindgren and Mitchell when they are throwing 2 hitters)
3. Vanderbilt (by virtue of losing 2 of 3 to MSU)
4. Alabama (surprise of year. Pitching has been good)
5. Florida (much improved)
NCAA Regional Teams:
6. Kentucky (Bats are ridiculous)
7. Ole Miss (Would still be in first tier if could have avoided sweep)
8. LSU (Still LSU, but losing 2 of 3 to MSU this week could hurt)
9. Auburn (Looks like the solid 3 seed FSU doesn't want in their regional)
Fighting for an NCAA Tournament Spot:
10. Arkansas
11. Tennessee (one of these teams will make the tournament)
NCAA Long Shots
12. Texas A&M
13. Georgia
14. Missouri
I agree with ^ this

depending on how things go @Baum th/fr/sat for Carolina - it's possible i'm over-rating USC.
LSU will benefit greatly from the home crowd over the next few weeks before Oxford wkend. Tigers only leave the state of LA for 3 games in April.

And these are power rankings which reflect which team is the best right now, and we are a much better team than when we lost to HC.. We have won all our SEC series and are playing really good baseball right now in all facets.

We split 2 of 4, did not lose a "series".
