ncbwa is always the last and sometimes they're too lazy to even put it up on Monday.

It will sort itself out. At this point though our record and RPI > LSU's. But we have a long season and a series to play.

The RPI doesn't mean that much right now when you're in a league like the SEC. The top 5 or 6 SEC teams record-wise will likely all be in the top 20 RPI when the regular season ends.

Logan Shore needs to get his stuff together early in his outtings. He is putting UF behind the 8 ball his last 2 starts.

True, everyone's RPI will go up once the schedule gets tough (SEC play).

How about this? A&M's better record came against a slightly tougher schedule.

Ags are just as deserving of #1 as LSU at this point in time. Looonnnnggg season ahead, tho.

We know that Florida and USC will bounce back and be contending for #1 spot in a week or two.

That pitcher from Mizzou is really good. Really good.

I do not know that about USC. I have watched them play several times and I do not think USC is all that great.

That and they have by far the toughest SEC schedule with series vs A&M, LSU, UF, and Vandy.

LSU has a good shot at being #1 in 5 of the polls and A&M #1 in the 6th one.

This is in fact how it turned out.

Our schedule has been ridiculous so far. Being where we are with a lot of young guys playing is not as bad as our record looks. I'm cautiously optimistic about our season if we can find a decent Sunday starter.

True. We haven't found a consistent batting order yet and our bats are a little cold right now. The top of our batting order is as good as anybody's.. so I think it's a little too early to count SC out already. We're not even three weekends into conference play yet..

I've watched just about everybody play (LSU, Vandy, TAMU, Arky, UF) and right now it looks like Mizzou has the best weekend rotation.. but would you believe me if I said they did?

I believe you.
I've read many of your posts, and you're about as sane as they come on this board.
Going to be a fun season.

There's enough insanity here on tRant. I'm just trying to provide some sanity ha..

From what I've seen though, A&M and LSU look like Omaha teams early. That series is going to be HUGE. I can't wait.. I just think it's too early to count out teams like UF, SC and even Mississippi State. Way too much talent on those teams. You never know when the light switch will come on.

Well everyone is talking about mizzous pitching and I've seen them personally as well. Why wouldn't I believe you?

Because it's March... and crowning the SEC's best pitching staff in March would be silly. Just like counting out teams 2 weeks into conference play.. or after watching a few games.

It's just too early in conference play and there's too much parity in this league to already know who's going to rise to the top.

Mizzou has some solid weekend starters. But it's way early. This team digs fights and scratches. It's how they took two from you guys. I don't see Mizzou's offense wowing anyone. We have a cog missing in the batting order right now also. But the pitching is pretty solid.

It's going to be another big test coming up this weekend @ aTm.

Gamecocks bats woke up Sunday. Our relievers got tattooed up pretty good. I think they can get their house in order, and they are going to be tough. Lot of good batting averages across the lineup. Murray impressed me Sunday. That was a tough game to be a pitcher. That strike zone was tight. He made the pitches that our relievers couldn't. Tip of the hat to him. Hell of an outing.

It's only 2 weeks into conference but almost halfway through the season. I don't think Carolina is all that great. Sorry. I may end up being wrong naturally.

The top of SC's order can hit with anyone. Crowe impressed me on Friday but frankly, I thought Wynkoop was better on Saturday. Crowe was a thrower and Wynkoop a pitcher. Not saying they're a #1 team but they'll get there and from there they can beat anyone on any given day.
