Looks like we'll be a consensus #1. Moved up to #1 from #3 in CB. Print the t-shirts.

When was the last regular season 1 vs 2 series in college baseball?

2008 saw #1 Miami vs #2 North Carolina week 12 and then a couple weeks later Miami & FSU were 1/2 in ACC-T.

April 15-17, 2011. #1 Vanderbilt at #3 South Carolina at the time of the series in the USAToday/ESPN coaches poll. USC won 2 of 3.

later in that season heading to Hoover (May 23) USC was ranked #1 & Vanderbilt #2 in USAToday/ESPN poll.

that's the closest to 1 vs 2 in SEC play in the past 5 years until this weekend's LSU/TAMU.

Updated with only one to go later this afternoon. LSU might get #1 in all. #1 vs #2(expect one has A&M at 4... WTF?) next week.

If NCBWA does put LSU #1 i think it will be the first time this year that someone has been #1 unanimous.

4 or 5 years ago #1 Arkansas hosted #1 Arizona State OOC series. Depending on what polls you used, it was 1 vs. 2

Yes really. But, the RPI does need to improve more after a huge leap this past weekend.

Especially since it was in the 80s before the weekend. Arkansas is really coming on strong.

In a good position to make our 14th straight regional for sure.

Finish up with weaker teams, yet those teams don't have terrible RPIs. IF they can keep it going, should be in line for a 2 seed.

RPI Needs Update:

To finish in the top 8

UF needs to win 8-9 games
A&M needs to win 9-10 games
LSU needs to win 11-12 games
Vandy needs to win 12-13 games
Mizzou needs to win 14 games
Aubrun needs to win 15 games
OM needs to win 16 games left.

It varies based on home/away so that is why its a range of games.

----

It looks like UF and A&M should make the top 8. LSU is going to have some trouble most likely. Assume LSU's # is on the lower end, 11, and LSU wins both OOC mid weeks left. That would mean a 9-3 record vs A&M, @MSU, Mizzou, and @USCe. They could win every series and still fall short somehow.

This isn't lcoked in stone. A lot depends on how everyone else does as well.

Well for starters LSU doesnt have two midweek games left, they have 3. And that's just to get to Top 8 by seasons end. LSU wins the SEC tournament every year.

According to the needs report, LSU would have to win each of it's remaining series 2/3 and all 3 midweek games. That's very doable.

Of course that report is based on everyone winning at the same clip they have all season, which won't happen.

I knew 2 didn't sound right. I over looked the New Orleans game.

I think LSU was in the 20-30 RPI area when they were left out in '10 I believe?
