I can certainly understand the LSU folks being PO'ed about the looming assault on y'alls university system. I poke fun at LSU sure, but its in good fun. I don't think anyone wants to see your higher education get gutted like that. It is a damn shame.

But, to keep this from becoming a political thread, it is great that the AD listened to the fans and adjusted the concession prices. It is a great place to catch a ball game and not being kicked in the groin over snacks only makes it better.

Kudos to the Arkansas AD for giving something back to the fans.

And with higher education in Louisiana, for starters, there are way too many universities and colleges in Louisiana. I think most of us just want somebody to take some initiative and lead on some reform. We have an empty suit at governor that's been running a presidential campaign since he stepped in office.

Same in Arkansas. If I were dictator for a year, I'd close at least three of the four-year public universities in the state and send the savings to Fayetteville.

Baseball has been a revenue sport at Arkansas.

As I imagine it also is at LSU and South Carolina.

Correct ... goes without saying that SCAR has been profitable for a few years now, since 2009 I think. Since 2011 I know for sure.

The conference goal is for all of the baseball programs to eventually become profitable thanks to the SEC Network and all the new and improved venues in the league.

I think it will happen soon. Yes, some schools won't turn a profit, but the revenues of the other schools will eventually bring the conference as a whole up to par. There are some great baseball venues in the conference and the TV deal will help to showcase them.
