Tucked into this student article about concession prices at Baum:

quote:

The baseball team earned $1.9 million in ticket sales last season and nearly $3.2 million total, according to the PointAfter website. After team spending, the baseball team earned a net profit of about $14,000.

Frick the haterz. SEC Baseball is legit.

Baseball has been a revenue sport at Arkansas.

As I imagine it also is at LSU and South Carolina.

I remember taking that survey. They actually did what the fans wanted, nice.

Concession prices will be cheaper because of fan feedback last season, according to the Arkansas athletics website. Popular items, such as fountain drinks, Gatorade, hot dogs, bratwursts, nachos, pretzels, chips, Cracker Jack and popcorn, will be cut by $1.

That's awesome for Arkansas fans. Def want to catch a game there at some point.

LSU earns about $2 million/year and they're definitely not cutting concessions prices.

Well, we're too busy using our AD to fund our university.

I hope he gets utterly humiliated in his presidency run. I mean just absolutely obliterated, first one out of the race, finishing behind the wackiest Tea Party candidate embarrassed.

He was asked recently how much it cost to attend LSU. A small part of his brain did explode. He had no idea.

He is the stupidest a-hole we've ever elected in Louisiana.

A&M baseball makes a little money, but not much. It's more or less a break even deal.

He stated that the cost was below 10,000 & that LSU's tuition is among the cheapest in the SEC (which is correct). Especially for students who qualify for TOPS

Eta: sorry for hijack

Technically, it's more than that small profit. It's difficult to parse out the SEC Network contract that would be attributed to carrying SEC baseball games but it's there. So, it's figured into the overall portion of the revenue that is shared each Summer amongst all of the schools but whatever that number is, it is not accounted for in this article (unless I missed it). I would be shocked if baseball was not a revenue sport at the home of college baseball (Dudy Noble Field).
