Its going to be damn funny when Mississippi hosts three regionals with all the bickering about the law they just passed as well as the flag.

I didn't even think about this, and how it might affect hosting sites. now that I think about it, its possible that they would send Ole Miss on the road as a #1 seed.

Exactly. They play several home games there anyway, but the stadium is named after Western Michigan's law school

They wont send Ole Miss on the road as a 1 if the bids are close. Is Southern good enough to host legitimately?

USM has a top 15 RPI and they are up two games in the third best conference. If they win C-USA, I'd think they would be a lock to host.

Looking at their schedule, they have solid wins over Michigan State and South Alabama. They lost by a run to Ole Miss and have another game with them coming up. They have UAB this weekend, but then play six straight against Florida Atlantic and Rice, the other two contenders and top 40 teams in C-USA.

If you just break it down by region (because they always end up spreading it around even if it isn't totally equitable)

SOUTH
Florida (RPI 1) (SOS 2)
South Carolina (RPI 2) (SOS 8)
Miami (RPI 3) (SOS 5)
Ole Miss (RPI 4) (SOS 3)
Louisville (RPI 5) (SOS 15)
Florida State (RPI 6) (SOS 1)
Clemson (RPI 7) (SOS 19)
South Alabama (RPI 9) (SOS 34)
Texas A&M (RPI 10) (SOS 53)
Vanderbilt (RPI 12) (SOS 44)
Charleston (RPI 13) (SOS 7)
NC State (RPI 14) (SOS 14)
Mississippi St (RPI 15) (SOS 10)
Southern Miss (RPI 16) (SOS 41)
North Carolina (RPI 17) (SOS 25)
Coastal Carolina (RPI 18) (SOS 23)

NORTHEAST/MIDWEST
Minnesota (RPI 19) (SOS 48)
Creighton (RPI 24) (SOS 87)
Michigan State (RPI 28) (SOS 136)
Bryant (RPI 29) (SOS 166)

BIG 12/WEST
UCSB (RPI 8) (SOS 33)
Texas Tech (RPI 11) (SOS 26)
TCU (RPI 30) (SOS 84)
Gonzaga (RPI 31) (SOS 92)
BYU (RPI 32) (SOS 163)
Cal (RPI 34) (SOS 74)
Oregon State (RPI 36) (SOS 116)

If Minnesota or Michigan State win the Big Ten and finish with a Top 20 RPI they will host.

If Creighton finishes with 40+ wins, wins the Big East and finishes with a Top 25 RPI they could possible host (don't they play at TD Ameritrade or doe they play at the other new park?).

UCSB will host. Texas Tech will host barring a collapse. I don't see any Pac 12 team that will host unless Cal or Oregon State runs away with the league.

I think everyone else will be ACC/SEC/CUSA and maybe South Alabama.

I probably would add UC Santa Barbara as a team to watch as far as hosts. Still early in their conference season, but they are 21-7 and top 10 in RPI.

BYU not playing on Sunday might actually help them host. C-USA winner will host - whether that's USM, Rice or Florida Atlantic remains to be seen.

UC Santa Barbara is listed as the #1 seed in Oregon St Regional. I didn't even notice it at first glance

Forgot about those bastards. The NCAA would love to put a baseball regional in Providence, Rhode Island. They would have done it a few years ago if the park would have been available.

Are UC Santa Barbara's facilities good enough to host a regional?

They would host at Lake Elsinore, the Padres Single A affiliate.

However, it is 175 miles away from their campus. So, kind of stupid.

I don't understand. We took the series from LSU - aren't we #1?

They're not going to count schools in Texas west even if its in Lubbock. And they aren't going to differentiate between A&M, Rice, & TCU because they're in different conferences either.

Tech still has a borderline Top 10 RPI. I don't know anything about their previous or remaining schedule, but I would think if they finish with a Top 10 RPI they would host.

D1 Baseball just released their projections. At quick glance looks better than BAs

LINK

Notable differences:
UNC over NC State
UCSB over Oregon State
Clemson over College of Charleston
Rice over USM

All SEC hosts the same.

Ole Miss #2 in Tallahassee
Alabama #3 at Clemson
LSU #2 at Stanky Field (matched with MSU for Super Regional)
Kentucky #2 at Louisville

Possible Super Regional Matchups:
Florida-Clemson
Miami-Oregon State
A&M-Ole Miss
LSU-Mississippi State
South Carolina-North Carolina
Michigan State-Cal State Fullerton
Texas Tech-Oklahoma State
Vanderbilt-Louisville

No way Miami, Florida, and FSU gets the top 3 overall seeds in the same state.

agreed, especially when you are going to hear all the cali fans complain about having to play each other. D1 baseball even has UCSB as national seed at this point.
