another SEC ref was on sports radio here and he said the same thing and he added that holding that occurs away from the ball carrier is rarely called

Unless Alabama is running in a game deciding score at LSU, like in 2008. That was called back on a "hold" at least 20 yards away from the play.

SEC Officiating Coordinator Steve Shaw.

Bama grad.

Gee, what a surprise.

Of course, when the Head of SEC Scheduling is also a Tuscaloosa High and Bama graduate, the Head Replay Official in the SECCG is also a Bama grad, and the SEC Office is in good 'ol Bumminhayum, what do you expect?

Of course, if it were in New Orleans and all those officials were LSU grads, that would be ok I guess.....

Watching it live it was BS.

In any case Bama won. The holding came in a situation where it gave absolutely no advantage. Had the LT just flopped the outcome of the play would have been identical.

Bama pays those refs well.
Still can't believe they put another second on the clock against Auburn or didn't call him out of bounds on the return, the check must have bounced.
