So most of the off season we heard how Barnett was better than Garrett because his numbers came in SEC play blah blah. So after week 4, what's the excuse for the below stats? Injured?

Barnett - 1 sack, 2.5 TFL, 2 QB hurries, 0 forced fumbles

Garrett - 6.5 sacks, 7.5 TFL, 6 QB hurries, 2 Forced fumbles

I think one thing that has hurt Barnett a lot was Maggitt's injury. Teams are more able to double team Barnett (one of the reasons Reeves-Maybin has been so effective), and teams can't do that against A&M because of Daeshon Hall.

Garrett is a fricking beast. I think half of the people bashing him this offseason were just doing so to troll A&M, half are just dumb. I wonder where that dude who made the Myles Garret most overrated player in the confernce is at. He can really spot em I tell ya.

Also let me just say that not being able to bump old threads now is dumb and takes away from one of the best aspects of the season on here. Calling out retarded predictions.

Maggitt's injury has hurt but Barnett has struggled bringing the QB down as well. He's gotten to the QB all season but can't seem to finish the play. Mayfield of OU escaped his grasp 3-5 times.

2.0 vs. ASU

0 vs. Ball State

3.5 vs. Nevada

1.0 vs. Arky

Show me a play where Garrett isn't double or triple teamed

Sophomore slump? He's clearly beating blocks, but not getting to the QB like last year.

I think the big knock on him in the offseason was 8 of his 11 sacks coming against ULM, Rice and Lamar. Valid criticism at the time. He showed flashes of greatness last year and it's coming out vs good teams now.

I think this is a rant-only thing, they must auto-anchor after a certain time period. I saw a year-old TD OT thread get bumped earlier today.

Some dipshit went on a rampage earlier this year and bumped like 3 pages of old threads, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why they changed it.

Yeah but even doing what he did last year as a true fish straight out of high school was noteworthy

Last year he seemed to get it done almost strictly with motor. Just running through/around people and never quitting on plays.

This year he has used a lot more pass rushing moves and he also added some more weight.

He's still a great player but I think he's kind of finding his way right now.

His numbers at the end of the year will still be pretty impressive I bet.

Completely agree, I'm just saying people had reasons to be skeptical seeing his numbers drop off vs better teams.
