Tua has a much better chance getting on the field as starting place kicker than starting QB

Why

I guess because it's unreasonable to expect a true freshman QB to improve in his second year.

Tua will play in a couple of games this season. He has the mental capacity to take over the job and be successful if Hurts were to get injured over the coarse of the season. Don't expect him to play any meaningful minutes unless an injury occurs. Jalen has cemented himself as the top dog, and he is doing an excellent job of leading the offense. He has a shot at a heisman this season.

Don't we only have 3 scholarship QBs? Of course he's going to play, but only in the typical back-up role unless Hurts completely shits the bed.

Hurts is the leader of the offense.

That means a lot to Saban

Folks are tripping over their cocks for Tua worst than conservatives tripping over their cocks trying to tie BLM to the George Soros illuminati

Word on the street is Tua struggled a little last scrimmage (as most TFs do), but Hurts has been a lot better specifically passing (I mean, what else can a QB do in fall camp). Going to be hard to dethrone a young QB that almost won a natty. Tua will play a game here or there in mop up but people are really high on him.

I really don't understand why he went to Bama. No matter how good you are it would be nearly impossible to dethrone a guy who was the starter on a team that made the final. Hurts also doesn't strike me as a guy who is going to leave early for the NFL.

If he's as good as people say it doesn't make much sense to sit for that long.

Tua and BJ Emmons will prolly be transferring to Ole Miss soon. It will be a new era for us.

We already turned down Blake Barnett.

It's hurts and it's not that close. Tua had a horrid scrimmage and is the clear numeral 2. Will be mop up.

Yeah. I remember when you said Bateman would be the starting QB last year, a week or so before the first game.

Tua is badass...has NFL written all over him. Dude throws a deep ball that looks like a Warren Moon ball. Watching the Bama Spring game did not make me feel better about Bama's future at QB. I'm sure he will be #2 and will get his snaps this year. They'd be nuts not to.

I'd bet big money this is completely false

I'm going to take the wait and see approach myself. "Word" is often full of shite. He definitely looked much better in the A-day game, but I'll reserve judgment until I see him do it consistently against disguised defenses.

As far as Tua, he looked great in that same A-day game. He isn't the athlete that Jalen is, but he appears to be a more gifted passer. Again - A-day. But, I don't have a season's worth of bad throws from him to offset the warm feeling he gave me on A-day.

I originally thought they'd try to redshirt Tua to get as much space between him and Jalen as possible. But, all signs point to him being the full time backup right now.

Stuff doesn't really get out of Alabama camp so anyone telling you they are in the know is probably just bullshitting you.
Bingo. Watch Saban's presser after practice yesterday and you'll understand why nobody gets any info about actual practice. One of the writers asked about a freshman receiver and eluded to seeing the kid running a route during practice....Saban nearly came unglued and asked how he'd seen any on the actual practice...You get more info out of North Korea than an Alabama closed-door practice.

He'll come in late in the second quarter for mop-up duty.
