Honestly, people who disagree going up and engaging people about it would probably be the best thing that could happen to this country. Actually meaningful "discussing" things like the media always pretends to want to do (but never actually does because it's boring and doesn't generate viewers).

And to respond to an earlier post, I think the influx of OOS students challenging long held "traditions" has been a good thing for the University, not a bad thing. Not because they are all bad, but because sometimes you need to have a fresh set of eyes challenge you and make you reevaluate things, even if you still come back to the same conclusion. And let's be honest, some of them were bad.

I'm not suggesting anything. I am making it abundantly clear that everyone has the 1st amendment right, not just protesters. You do agree they are protesting?

i'm just curious how these people are going to be made to regret their protest is all. how exactly does that work? the first amendment doesn't afford you the right to threaten or harass people.

You consciously walk into a situation intending to take an unpopular stand, looking for trouble. Find trouble. Good luck with that. It's not that difficult to understand. Test it out, report back.

but i thought you were claiming the first amendment? again, what is it that you're suggesting here? this protest already happened by the way, where were all the tough guys then? doesn't sound like any of these ppl regretted it too much if they're gonna do it again.

and to be clear, what you are suggesting is not protected by the first amendment; what they are doing is.

Sure it is. You're upset right now. Have I threatened or harassed you?

just saying that doesn't make it true. i love internet tough guys tbh. always good for a laugh. hence my follow up questions.

still waiting for you to explain how you would make these people regret their protest.

I used a pretty common phrase and you turn it into internet tough guy. So tough guy, try it out for yourself and report back. I am certain someone as sensitive as you will be made to feel really uncomfortable without anyone going beyond their 1st amendment rights.

You just aren't that tough outside of this board are you?

look you said they'll be made to regret their protest. i literally cannot imagine anything someone like you could do outside of harassment or assault that literally any of these protestors would give one half shite about which is why i'm so curious what you're suggesting as you were hilariously waving the first amendment around back there. no idea why this is such a difficult question for you. ;)

and sensitive? lol, just look at you. speaks for itself. something tells me the irony is probably lost on you though. :)

Peaceful protest is punching someone in the face? Are you some kind of reverse SJW who thinks that any expression of opinion that differs from yours is an assault on you or something?

Like I said before go live in another country for a couple years, then come back and apologize.

OK, so you want these protesters who don't truly feel loyalty to the flag or the national anthem or whatever to just fake it so YOU won't be offended? Kinda reminds me of a Christian living in a repressive Islamic regime having to conceal all evidence of his Christianity so as not to offend the muslim majority. Is that what the soldiers of this Great Country fought for?

Say every single person in that 12,000 seat student section sat during the National Anthem. Then what?

I'm tired of all these Yankee and Western fricks completely changing the school and local culture.

You think Bama would be where it is today without those "fricks." Now, answer truthfully. I rode across the state several times in the 1960s and it was almost like a third world country.

Bama and Barn football helped change this. And quite possibly the greatest Gump of them all was a "frick" who picked up a Southern accent to rival mine. And I am "flatter" than Richard Petty.

Haven't read the thread but was disappointed that this thread title didn't lead to a lively discussion of whether one fan base sits to pee or not.
