So running out of the Pistol is better than running from under center? Why?
You have a first year starter at QB. Why put this formation in and force him to worry about fumbling the snap?

Not too mention it takes the RB longer to get to the LOS in the Pistol rather than in a normal single back formation. I think its an advantage for a sweep or PA pass though.

Its the same concept as taking the snap out of shotgun, are you saying a first year quarterback should not take a snap out of the shotgun as well?

Unfortunately not. The Thursday night game conflicts with another job that I have on Thursday nights. Not too mention me likely not making it back for my Friday night job.
Looks like I might still be able to make the trip to N'ville and Auburn. I'll be in Starkpatch, of course.
