If either of the two recruits he signed (one o-lineman) are upset then I would say they would have justifiable reason to be. However, we don't know if those two long time commitments were aware, care, etc.

Also, Bama has given him a light recruiting load this year. He only had like 5 prospect he took the lead on. Bama got two of them and, again, only one was an o-lineman (JUCO, at that). The light load makes you think that Saban knew he was likely looking to move on at the end of the year.

This. Saban has a plan for everything.

Stoutland was good but I regard Pendry as the better OL coach of the two and he's still hanging around the football program in some administrative capacity.

We're switching to pass blocking this year, anyway. Now we're training the refs on ignoring illegal shifts and pushing off.

Yep, I doubt we will, but we could bring Pendry back to coach in a pinch. I expect to make an outside hire though.

While he may not be a heavy recruiter, his ties to the Northeast and Miami are very valuable.

Bama should be commended for the timing of the announcement, as it give 2014 recruits plenty of notice

Because the 2013 recruits committed to Alabama because of the OL coach.

We will make a good replacement hire, and our OL will be the best in the SEC yet again.

Which doesn't mean squat when he's not out in those areas recruiting.

I love how Bama fans think they will not or somehow cannot sink back to mediocrity. Can't wait.

He is though.

He's just not a Pruitt or Thompson, who get singled out because of their recruiting prowess.

If Saban tells him no on a certain recruit he's recruiting, not much he can do. Like Matthew Thomas, Saban passed on him.

Now how do you think Bama got in on the likes of Amari Cooper, Eddie Jackson, Anthony Averett, and Leon Brown?

Alabama's mediocrity still beat the hell out of Ole Miss.

Back? Dude, mediocrity has been the exception during Bama's history, not the rule. The norm for Bama has been to be a top 10 program nationally and the top program (at worst, top 2) in the SEC.

I'm sure you can't. That said, there are two things to consider:
1) You may not live long enough to see it, and
2) Bama has a 50-8-2 record against Ole Miss. Are you hoping Bama "sinks back to mediocrity" so you can break double digits on lifetime victories?

(apologies in advance for the good Ole Miss fans. this guy is just douching it up)
